  1. i dont care how the posts are treated, or i wouldn't be posting them. i dont think the tea leaves read in our favor in the next three games, hopefully im wrong. If you didn't care how your posts are treated you wouldn't ask your posts to not be treated in a certain way. Besides, your tea leaves probably had our pre-ASB slump never ending, and ultimately fighting the Brewers for 5th place. But FWIW, Kyle and Fan are not at all alike. Fan represents every reactionary fan with a hair social media trigger who calms down as quickly as he exploded. And whether or not he 'ruins the game thread experience' of his fellow posters, he'd never willfully drag them into his well of despair, which he probabaly vacates following the game. Kyle, on the other hand, enjoys his well, and if it were up to him, he'd suck us all down with him and feast upon our souls.
  2. We lost a 1-0 game to the best pitcher on earth and have 2 days to obsess over it. What we need is a fast-forward to Tuesday night button. Anyone have such an item?
  3. I'm thinking we'll be seeing a bit more Soler with a pair of lefty's due up next. The idea of Soler is so much better than Soler actually is. And I'd take either vs. a pair of good but beatable lefties.
  4. that's awesome. we're hitting something like .190 in the playoffs so far, but thank god roberts decided to walk heyward and coghlan last night and the guy who's so crippled he almost didn't make the roster hit a bomb drunk and trolling, IMO Im pretty sure that the Cubs are to him what a box cutter is to a self hating, suburban teen; the difference being that he can't blame it on the cat when people ask how it happened.
  5. Russell was very bad before the postseason started. He's had about a month of bad games. And he had other bad stretches, too. They can easily win with Russell not hitting; it's not nearly as much of an issue as Rizzo going through one of his slumps. Makes me REALLY miss Schwarber; the lineup is pretty barren of power right now once you get past Bryant until Baez comes up to bat. I'm thinking we'll be seeing a bit more Soler with a pair of lefty's due up next.
  6. Not sure if being pessimistic or optimistic. Gonna guess based on the poster optimistic How do you feel about arietta and lackey right now? Real confident? Then we'd get Kershaw in LA in game 5. It's likely we take one of those games but if someone gave me odds we go 0-3 in LA I would definitely take it If Arrieta and Lackey were up against Kershaw and Kershaw, I'd feel a lot less confident. But they're not.
  7. Score be damned, this sure felt like one of the most one-sided losses in quite some time.
  8. any chance that Wood, Montgomery, or even Zaz will be given a start at some time during this series? This Dodger roster is obscenely left handed, and I don't know how I feel about Lackey or Arrieta in his mortal form against them.
  9. Aroldis has been on record stating that he's not as comfortable with multi-inning saves. Idgaf. Hes also hinted at wanting to be a starter before & i bet he would rather throw 2 innings starting clean than bases loaded no outs where a WP or BB has him needing to only throw strikes. Plus his 2 inning quote was probably exagerrated & from when he was a Red playing in meaningless regular season games in empty ass Cinci for the Arm Crypt Keeper Dusty Baker. Nah, I'm pretty sure there was a quote from one of his first multi-inning games as a Cub that he preferred not doing it.
  10. Aroldis has been on record stating that he's not as comfortable with multi-inning saves.
  11. Awesome win, but we owe Dave Roberts a big thank you for sticking with Joe Blanton instead of going with a Loogy to face Miggy. And also one to Joe Blanton for not retiring 5 years ago like I'd assumed he had.
  12. Yeah, I'm still kind of in shock. I still can't believe this is my team -- MY TEAM!!! -- playing this way. This being said, I'm still looking back at game one, and how easily we could have just saved our own ass to tie the series at 2.
  13. well yeah, that is pinch hitting 101. Coghlan had to go out to be announced as pinch hitter to force the change. That is also why Bochy hesitated for a second to make sure Cogs was officially announced and thus unable to come back in later. Yeah but still hilarious. Bochy was playing bullpen roulette in the 9th. I kind of see what he was doing, going through the same crew that shut us down for like 8 innings the night before, the only difference being using 52 year old LOOGY Javier Lopez. This being said, with a 3 run lead vs. a team that had shown minimal signs of life the previous 15-16 innings, I can imagine why those guys weren't mentally prepared.
  14. I kind of envy all the people who just woke up or are just waking up, rubbing the sleep out of their eyes, and are all 'holy horsefeathers, we won?!?'
  15. Pages 25-40 should make for some entertaining reads in the morning.
  16. I'm telling you. Can't remember the last time I saw a blink of an eye momentum pillage like that. And by the time the bottom of the 9th rolled around, they were only down by a run, but their souls were too broken to care.
  17. Yep. Giants may hate him like we hate will clark I'm thinking more the lines of AJ Pyrzinskie in a few years time.
  18. It was a little over a year ago when NSBB's best and brightest we're hoping he had some shred of trade value left.
  19. You're not lying. I was not expecting them to go out like that. But from the moment Aroldis threw his 1st pitch, we may as well have been up 20-5.
  20. I don't know which of you knuckleheads didn't see this coming from a mile away, because I sure did.
