  1. We're going to win this game, so please be prepared.
  2. So is it time to worry about Heyward yet? Because in all seriousness, I can't remember the last time I saw a guy look so lost at the plate. The only other guy I can think who completely forgot how to hit and it wasn't injury related at an age when he should be at his peak is B.J. Upton- which just so happened to be after signing his first big contract.
  3. Prediction: 0-0 in the bottom of the 9th 2 out; Kershaw has a 120 pitch perfecto going as he throws the 3-2 pitch to Chris Coghlan, then immediately collapses into a heap of exhaustion, allowing Seal Boy's weak comebacker to get through for a hit. Enter Kenley Jansen. Enter pinch hitter Jason Heyward, who rockets the 1st pitch he sees onto Waveland. Out of habit, J-Hey begins his woeful trudge back to the dugout as the crowd erupts, and his team mates have to direct him around the bases.
  4. He boycotted all Trump Hotels while the team stayed at them during the season...thats gotta be good for something typical whiny liberal Seeing as the Rickett's family is pro-Trump, he should boycott Wrigley Field too.
  5. Aroldis just seeemd annoyed and inconvenienced over coming in to an 8-2 lead
  6. Cue the part where they lift Javy for precautionary reasons and an 8-1 lead and we spend the next 2 days obsessing over it.
  7. Remember when we wanted to send him to the Padres for...I don't even remember what.
  8. Day off tomorrow so use him. Chapman has a habit of walking guys with 3 run leads that I don't really want to screw around with right now. Strop has a habit of raising my blood pressure by a lot.
  9. How have we only scored 2 runs in this inning?
  10. The 'have to give (the replay) a shot because why not' mentality is precisely what's wrong with the replay system.
  11. If there's one thing that instant replay teaches us, it's that all those years we've thought the umps never get it right, we were right.
  12. Didn't look challenge-worthy at first, but now he looks out by a lot.
  13. I'm not even mad at Heyward anymore. He just looks like he needs a hug.
  14. Heyward had more than one good year hitting. He was signed as the mythical 5 tool beast. Sadly, he left his hitting tools in St. Louis.
  15. That was just classless of the Dodger 2nd baseman not to help that older gentleman to his feet.
  16. I like our chances of splitting with them at Wrigley a lot. Which is why winning may not be literally mandatory, but it's pretty damn close.
  17. But not against the Dodgers. Have you seen the lefty/righty splits of these guys? Nope. Are the Dodgers not good vs lefties or something? I know you're being facetious, but I'm simply stating that even if there were some rationale behind the Lester is due for a rough outing mindset, The Dodgers aren't likely to be on the other end of it.
  18. why are you so [expletive] good at things like this with words? It's funny 'cause Carlos Ruiz is batting cleanup and it's not 2012 and I don't know who Enrique Hernandez is.
  19. I was thinking that for game 6. I'd trust reliable mid-rotation Jake vs. a less left handed lineup, but vs. the righty thumping Dodgers, no thanks. Other than the guy pitching tonight, we have nothing resembling a match for Kershaw, so I'd trust the matchups and give Wood the first few innings, then maybe Zaz, and hope we can keep it close and chase Kershaw after 6-7 innings. And if they push a game 7, Hendricks vs. Hill is a pretty even matchup.
  20. Yeah this just seems to good to be true. Maeda is due to be passable, and Lester is due to give up a few runs. But not against the Dodgers. Have you seen the lefty/righty splits of these guys?
  21. Free tawfig..liq..piq... Free random letters guy!
  22. Meh, it was too close to call. I figure we deserve the benefit of the doubt due to the piss poor judgement call to send a notoriously slow 1st baseman vs. one of the best OF cannons in the biz. Dave Roberts probabaly just forgot that Adrian Gonzalez isn't him.
  23. There's always going to be some level of anxiety going into a playoff game, especially in a tie series, but this game is ours to win. Skimming over the Dodger's splits, these guys are completely inept vs. lefties. Puig and Seeger are the only guys with >.700 OPS against them. I'm thinking we rattle off 3-4 runs in the first 3-4 innings, tack a few on vs. the dregs of their bullpen, and win 7-0. Yes, that is what will happen.
