  1. Cubs Are 10-1 in post season games where they score 3 runs or more.
  2. I appreciate where the mistakes are coming from. He's trying to make the big play but I think the pressure of this game is getting to him right now. Everything is moving too fast for him. Which is why I really wish that he wasn't in the game right now. Maybe we should have kept LaStella around instead of 11 outfielders.
  3. Kyle is like the dude in the old western saloon who calmly enjoys his drinks while everyone else is flipping tables and swinging from chandeliers.
  4. I'm not going to pretend what most of these numbers mean, but they sound important, and I have a lot of nervous energy to burn. So: Adjusted Pitching: Wins Kyle Hendricks 4.2 Corey Kluber 3.4 Adjusted Pitching: Runs Kyle 39 Corey 33 Sit. Wins Saved (WPA/LI) Kyle 4.5 Corey 3.9 Base Out Wins Saved (REW) Kyle 4.6 Corey 3.4 Base Out Runs Saved (RE24) Kyle 41.78 Corey 33.83 Win Probability Added Kyle 4.1 Corey 2.6 Coupled with the fact that our offense is better than theirs by a lot, these make me happy. At least I think they should.
  5. I've often wondered if there could be such thing as an early inning specialist who's job is to pitch the 2-3 innings. Kind of the opposite of a closer.
  6. If it were up to me, which it's not: Dex CF Schwarb DH Rizz 1B Bryant 3B Zo 2B Addi SS Soler or Cogs LF J Hey RF Gramps C Love you Javy, but the Fun Dip fueled 8 year old flailing madly at a Piñata batting style is less than conducive for game 7 of the World horsefeathering Series.
  7. FWIW, John Lackey has a pretty nice career line as a reliever: 0.00 ERA, 1.00 WHiP, and 9.0 SO/9. Though some might view 1 innings in 2004 to be a rather SSS.
  8. Would anybody else feel a little more comfortable with Grampa Ross behind the plate? He's actually been better at the plate throughout the post season, and if anyone can keep Kyle at his best, it's him. It goes back to the old better chance of X helping us with the glove than Y helping us with the bat. And we'd still have Contreras' bat on the bench.
  9. Kluber had 9 starts of 32 this season where he gave up 4 ER or more, 2 of them in September. For reference, Arrieta had 8 such starts. Hendricks had 3. Kluber's also on 3 days rest after 3 days rest and a cumulative 169 pitches and 12 innings within the past 7-8 days. More importantly, this is game 7 of the World Series, and all else is erased.
  10. Pedro Strop's hell bent on squashing the criticism on Maddon.
