We have Arrieta, Wood, Wada, Hendricks, Turner, Straily, Doubront, and maybe Vizcaino, though I wouldn't bet on him as rotation options under team control. We have the resources to acquire a front end starter in the offseason, and I'm sure they'll be on the lookout for a Maholm/Feldman/Hamel type. Jackson's kind of looking like the odd man out. At $11MM per year the next two seasons, we'd be lucky to eat that entire salary and end up with a guy who might sneak into our top 15-20. As long as we'd be stuck with the contract regardless, why not see how he'd do in the pen? Now might be a good time to start the experiment.
