  1. what the hell does that matter? Wisconsin isnt exactly the most Jew friendly state in the union. Plus, I can tell you that as soon as a Jewish player does good for themselves, were quick to claim them, but if not, we dont. You dont hear many Jews talking about David Newhan.
  2. maybe you should get some sleep. Theyre both big white injury prone Cardinals power hitters
  3. I meant Rolen. I always confuse those 2.
  4. yes. Still, the Cards players sem to be dropping like flys. And I meant Rolen, not Edmonds.
  5. The kids bad ass. Its a shame that potentially the best jewish player of our generation has to play in Wisconsin of all places. Of course if he keeps it up, its only a matter of time before he ends up in New York, Boston, or Cali.
  6. Actually, I had to turn it off after the 5th, and tuned back in the 9th. Didnt realise Zambrano was getting into trouble. Still, they could have at least saved Howry, and given Eyre a shot at the 8th.
  7. After losing Edmonds and Encarnacion for the season, coupled with feel good story Rick Ankiels HGH allegations, Chris Duncan left tonights game wih a leg injury. Not sure how serious.
  8. Zambrano could have gone 7, maybe 8 this evening and used Eyre, Wood, or even Piggy. Instead he used the studs of the pen. Should he have not kept them fresh for tommorow night when the Cubs and Bucs each have starters in their mid 60's going at it, especially when the Brewers have their ace going aganst some Johnny No Name?
  9. and meanwhile, Brewers fans are scratching their heads wondering why this guy wasnt fired the moment the team let a 12 game lead evaporate in a few weeks.
  10. Help me out here. Anyone got info on Fukodome? All I know is hes the it guy of this off season, as far as Japanese players gos. Hes stated that when he gts there, he wants to be refered to only as "Kazuke" ala Ichiro, so at least he thinks hes that good. Im sure the usual suspects, Yanks, Mets, Angels, Dodgers will all make aggressive bids, so hopefully our ownership situation will be squared away by then so they can do something.
  11. Sure, with the ownership being the big off season transaction, its doubtful that we'll see much of an upgrade, but hypothetically,
  12. Something confuses me. I follow minor league stats daily, but apparently dont know much about how the league works. I just looked over at the standings, and The Smokies(who got no hit last night) are in 3rd in their division, and have clinched a playoff spot, but the 1 and 2 teams havnt. How does that work?
  13. Hopefully last outing was Zs wake up call. You can apologize all you want, but if you want to win the fans back, you know what to do. Maybe he needs to punch someone to get his grove back. How bout Will Ohman? Meanwhile, the Brewers have Suppan vs. harang, so this is a case of the Cubs destiny being in their own hands.
  14. Thats huge. If it does come down to it, The Brewers, despite their struggles are dominant at home, where as were something lik 4-1 vs. the Cards on their turf.
  15. Which means absolutely nothing It doesnt mean it wont happen again. It does however suggest that there are guys ho can shut em down in the 7th and 8th inning, but they cant take the pressure of closing. Similarly, there are guys who can dominate in a save situation, but for some reason when you bring them i with a 5 run lead, they cant get the job done.
  16. I know there was already a deal worked out when the Cubs drafted him as a rule 5, but its another Cubs what could have been. Sure, nobody knew what hed do, but he was worth a gamble as a former top pick. Did Hendry really think that the likes of Murton, Jones, and Floyd were going to hold down center and right? Oh well. It would have been nice to have another bat like that. Hed have fit perfectly into the 5 spot.
  17. Does anyone else remember the last time the Cubs had a lights out set up man, and then moved him to closer? It didnt turn out so well. In fact he was never the same and was ultimately bood out of town.
  18. they'll be too busy sorting out the ownership situation to do anything.
  19. Corey Patterson of he didnt suck.
  20. While the offenses are both close, and inconsistant, the Cubs pitching is far superior, and thats the type of thing that will make or break a playoff run, especially when the Cubs are against NL Central garbage and the Marlins the rest of the way.
  21. I didnt even realise that Pawelek was still with the organization. Didnt he make the 40 man last year?
  22. 4 runs, but all RBI belonged to 1 guy. Im a little rusty on my math, but that means the rest of the team combined for 0.
  23. Damn you Ryan Dempster for hitting into 10 double plays this series.
  24. Earlier they made fun of a heavy set gentleman in cubs gear. They are a classy organization no doubt about it. The organization did? The announcers did. After the camera man pulled him aside from everyone else. Cards fans take a beating at Wrigley - I'm not sure that anyone can claim their team doesn't have dirtball fans. Go Illini. I really don't think our announcers single them out and call them losers. Has anyone broken it to them yet that no only do they have no days off left, but thy still have series' vs. the D Backs, Phils, and Mets while we're battling the dregs of the NL Central? They dont have much to celberate. While we lost a series to a damn good team, they only tied one of the worst teams in the league. They should have at least been in a 3 way tie for first.
