  1. my family from my mother's side is from illinois...a cornfield named Sheldon to be precise...and i grew up watching the cubs... of course...i am from clearwater, florida... leaving campus this morning i got a Go Cubs from a kid on his way to class! at the grocery store, i got two more Go Cubs... what a vibe today ya'll!!!! i am about to [expletive] my pants with excitement
  2. man...i am freaking bugging out right now this year has such a different vibe to it than last year i don't know what to do with myself right now i do know that i am going to be blasting radiohead's "lucky" right before the first pitch we are standing on the edge my friends :beg:
  3. No, I haven't heard that Carol. That is interesting. 1908...holy [expletive]! that's a hundred years!
  4. If the Cubs beat the Dodgers, I immediately expect the Cubs to win the World Series. In fact, if the Cubs win the first game against the Dodgers, that will do a lot to get the monkey off their backs and make me feel a lot more confident. exactly...if they lose...it is 6 straight playoff loses for them right? four straight for pretty much the same team... i want them to win this game so bad because i think it will do great things for their confidence but i won't hit the panic button just yet if they lose...however...the button will be pushed quite rapidly if they drop the first two... The Cubs are currently on a 6 game playoff losing streak. oh god really? i wasn't watching baseball early in the decade... they lost the last 3 games against the marlins in 2003???? :-&
  5. The wind blowing in is a blessing. Lowe is a sinkerballer and I would be more concerned if the wind was blowing out. True. It helps Demp way more than it helps Lowe dempster is the MVP of this team...i don't think any cubs fan can honestly say they predicted him to perform like he has this season...i certainly didn't... we need dempster to step up to one more level, and considering what he has done already...i am quite confident that he will do it again tomorrow evening... fear the canadian...fear the dempster

  8. um yeah...today is the day he is about to get shelled
  9. :good: my lord...that first pic...yowza!
  10. Cons: a short series is always a toss-up. is there any real reason why the NLDS is not a seven game series? there has to be a GOOD reason right?!?
  11. yes cool...thanks...i hope i don't have to, but it is always nice to have a back up plan
  12. can you listen to listen to playoff games on MLB radio?
  13. and so it begins...unless they are going to move him back to game 3
  14. the dodgers have furcal back not to mention blake and manny i am starting to believe we all might be in for a tremendous let down in a few days I remember back in 1998 when I was all excited because the Braves were 3-6 against the Cubs in the regular season. I wouldn't be a letdown for me if the Cubs lose, because I know in baseball there's a good minority of the time that the best team just doesn't win. for any other team in any other circumstance...maybe but this is the cubs how in the world would cub fans not be letdown this year, with the team they have?
  15. the dodgers have furcal back not to mention blake and manny i am starting to believe we all might be in for a tremendous let down in a few days
  16. no i am not high...are you? you do realize that if we lose today that is 3 straight right? and if we lose tomorrow that we go into the playoffs last winning a ballgame exactly one week prior... if i can't worry about that, then i don't know what exactly i can worry about
  17. nothing like going into the playoffs riding a 4 game losing streak [-X first round sweep again?
  18. wow...i guess we are just giving the brewers the win today groovy :-&
