    I sure as hell hope not. The last thing the Cubs need is another oft-injured, over-the-hill pitcher who is miscast as anything other than a middle reliever at this point in his career. interesting idea. not a good one, but plausible. i could totally see them bringing in benitez and then moving dempster to the rotation. that's cool with me...whatever gets them to lose every game in june and at least 2/3's of the games before the allstar break FIRE SALE!!!

    bummer...apparently cuban is trying to develop an alternate football league to compete with the NFL... i guess he isn't in the running anymore plus...this makes him a bit dumb... you guys remember the XFL? oh...who who who will buy the cubs, who who, who who?

    what do you think the chances are of the cubs cleaning house after everything changes at the end of the season assuming A. they keep this pace of dismal baseball B. they actually play somewhat decent and either make the playoffs or just barely miss it i know someone said somewhere on this board that the fans would be up in arms if there was a firesale...but...man...it really is looking like it is time this team reminds me of the redskins from a few years back, and i actually thought that during the offseason, i just pushed it out of my mind because i am always so stupidly optimistic about the cubs... i think i really do need to cry over this team what a sad state of affairs

    seriously it may very well be time to start doing some house cleaning...i am not talking about right now, but at the end of the season look at the brewers, or even better yet...the mets they are nasty they have prospects good god the cubs have squat

    The OF needs to be Soriano, Pie and Murton every day...Infield needs to be Ramirez, Theriot, Patterson and Lee every day...Catcher should be Soto, with Blanco backing him up... That allows us to move, trade, yard sale, or demote to ball boy Jones, Floyd, Ward, Barrett, Derosa, Isturis, Pagan Starting staff is pretty much the same Z, Lilly, Marquis, Hill, and Marshall Pen is Pignatellio, Marmol, Guzman, Cherry, Cotts, Rapada, with Wuertz closing... There...I just saved us like 20-30 mil in salary...and I'd just about bet that the team listed above (with servicable bench guys) would not play worse than the product currently on the field...We put 1/2 of that money saved towards Miguel Cabrerra...the rest we hand out to fans as payment for making them watch this pathetic team. what are we going to do with ramirez then?
