The counterargument is that while yes, Florida would likely still be a contender if they had somebody else at QB, that guy still wouldn't be Tim Tebow. He is the only QB ever to run and throw for 20 TD's in a season. Never been done before. That's because most teams have a running back that punches the ball in from short yardage. You don't think that Steve Young, Randall Cunningham, Mike Vick, etc. could have reached the 20/20 plateau if they were given the ball pretty much every time their team got inside the 5 yard line? Bingo, it's not like Tebow has huge rushing games or anything. The guy only averages 4.1 YPC. Pat White could do far more on the ground than Tebow does if he didn't have Slaton and the new freshman back in the backfield. Tebow's good but there are four or five QB's out there that I would take over him, where as there isn't another player in the nation that I would take over DMac. McFadden is also helped out immensely by the fact that he has Felix Jones with him in the backfield who is averaging a measly 9.1 yards per carry. Add to the fact that QB is a much harder position to play and is a much more important position to the team and that's why a RB has to have a season that's amazing to beat a QB for the Heisman. I don't think McFadden is Adrian Peterson and even AD didn't win the Heisman. Tebow has the second highest QB rating in the nation this year. He's thrown four fewer TD passes than Chase Daniel despite attempting 156 fewer passes. He has the highest yards-per-attempt average in the nation. Like I said, McFadden is a very good running back, I don't think he's Heisman-worthy. DMac vs. AD DMac...
