that's shaky ground though. it's got to be tough to suspend a player and dock their pay if there is nothing there to go on. they were able to get ben because of the alcohol provided to minors thing. unless marshall was doing the same thing, or unless they can get him on something else, depriving him of pay for no other reason than the commissioner's hunch or for appearances sake, he'd have a very good law suit against the league. he could likely file some sort of injunction which would allow him to play and get paid until the matter is reviewed in court. He will use any excuse to suspend a guy, and somebody with a record who gets charged with punching a woman in the face will be an easy target. My guess is that without multiple reliable witnesses there won't be much chance for charges, so it shouldn't matter. But never count out the ginger hammer.
