that's shaky ground though. it's got to be tough to suspend a player and dock their pay if there is nothing there to go on. they were able to get ben because of the alcohol provided to minors thing. unless marshall was doing the same thing, or unless they can get him on something else, depriving him of pay for no other reason than the commissioner's hunch or for appearances sake, he'd have a very good law suit against the league. he could likely file some sort of injunction which would allow him to play and get paid until the matter is reviewed in court. Have you been following Goodell at all? He's a honey badger. He will use any excuse to suspend a guy, and somebody with a record who gets charged with punching a woman in the face will be an easy target. My guess is that without multiple reliable witnesses there won't be much chance for charges, so it shouldn't matter. But never count out the ginger hammer. Old youtube references aside, LPF is still correct.

Also, you guys are acting like I said he should never be signed. I didn't. Just said I'm really not impressed with the guy. Just surprised to see people thinking he's an "imperative" signing.

as opposed to the great success story call J'Marcus Webb????? I really don't think he'd be much of an improvement. Really!?!? Webb is horrible. Just saw him get beat a lot while watching all those Charger games in SD. Most of their fans aren't impressed with him either. Granted he'd be better than Webb but that's really not saying much.

I think that would make a lot of sense. Everything I've seen from the Mincey story makes it sound like they were dead-set on getting him and almost did but for an extremely last-minute move by the Jags. I'd imagine the plan was to get Mincey so they didn't have to bank on Wimbley actually getting cut or not and now they're just hoping he actually does.

Dude is definitely saving face. From a non-Bears focused standpoint though, it is awfully telling that Mario went through all that and left without a deal. Hard to blame him, though.
