  1. It's gonna be kinda funny when this goes down to the deadline.
  2. JPC gives up 2 in the 2nd on a hit and 2 walks. Blech.
  3. Sarcasm. Also, Yao-Lin Wang is the starter for Daytona tonight, not Pierce Johnson. Also, apparently Blackburn is piggybacking off Skulina tonight?
  4. Call me crazy but I remain pretty optimistic about Trestman for some reason.
  5. I'm assuming that review also includes his performance in the actual game as well.
  6. From the BP/Jason Parks write-up on the Futures Game:
  7. I think my immediate reaction would be to: 1.) [expletive] myself, and 2.) cry That said, go home Bob Nightengale, you're drunk.
  8. I'm gonna give this kid a twitter ceiling of Brandon McCarthy at this point. Solid drafting by Theo and Co.
  9. Jesus. That seems a tad harsh.
  10. Who are your other keepers? Tough choice. Bradshaw is on a team that can't run. Moore will be solid but not special. Gates is on the downside of his career. Alexander would probably be my choice. I like McCoy as the coach and he projects to be a starter on a team that should throw for 4000 yards. He's risky because he's never been anything close to a starting level WR. But I just don't like any of your other options. I'd look to draft a team where Alexander is your #4 wr and best case he's a starter by end of the year for you. Worst case potential matchup option or bye week player. First four keepers are: Arian Foster, Brandon Marshall, Victor Cruz, and Kaepernick That even puts me MORE in the Alexander camp, knowing that you have 2 stud WRs already. You won't need him to be more than a #3, but you can still go BPA in the draft making him your #4 WR if u go that route, which a viable option since you have one of the best 2 RBs in the league and don't need to overdraft there. Should I go for a better QB early in the draft if I get the shot? I also have Cutler and Rapey McGrabbyhands (roethlisberger) but figure Kaep is my best bet.
  11. There's no way the Cubs sign this guy. He's going to LA.
  12. Oh god I don't know. To me he never seemed to be a "former NFL meatball" like so many others. Maybe he was. I probably never payed that close of attention. He just never rubbed me the wrong way from what I can recall. I have had a lot of life issues over the past few years that have kept me relatively sidelined when it comes to some things. In retrospect, I guess I probably shouldn't have vouched for him since I don't have much to draw from. Merrill Hoge? Not a former NFL meatball? The factorback guy? Yeah, I dunno what he's thinking either.
  13. After Brett Jackson, I'd rather stay away from that K rate.
  14. Man I need to rewatch that movie. It's been too long. Definitely feels like this will be a busy All-Star Break for the Cobs. Not much new: Interesting:
  15. Shot of Alcantara taking BP:
  16. He posted it in the context of a larger piece and did so to address comments by one of the, if not the, most visible baseball writer in America. Why are you annoyed exactly?
  17. In other news, Tim Lincecum just threw what may well go on to be one of the most ignored no hitters ever.
