  1. Javy's K% is 30.1% entering today. Here's hoping it can go below 30 soon and stay that way. His BB% is at a career high 8.4%
  2. Not that it really matters at this point.
  3. HenMel might be the single worst attempt at a name abbreviation I've ever seen.
  4. Eh. Edwards is probably the only one that matters. Giving up on Maples already?
  5. And the 5th highest WAR in baseball among catchers. http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=c&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=150&type=8&season=2013&month=0&season1=2013&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0 He's probably going by Baseball-Reference. Their calculations often conflict with Fangraphs for WAR. BR has him at 3.1
  6. I know SSS, but Baez currently has the highest walk rate of his minor league career.
  7. I'd also note that, in contrast to Badler, Ben Lindbergh and Sam Miller addressed this on the daily BP podcast and both seemed to be under the impression that it was a conscious strategy of the Cubs and seemed generally favorable of it.
  8. The discusssions over whether trading Torreyes for $800k in IFA space, which ended up meaning just $800k in cash, was good value, turned into discussions over what Torreyes would get on the open market as an FA. I pointed to Rivero as a 25-year-old middle reliever getting rocked (at the time) at Kane County who got four times that on the open market. ah i guess it was 800k then. my bad. You could even look at it as $1.6 million in cash as there is a 100% tax on overage.
  9. You haven't made a point that justifies the condescension you're using. How so? Not comparing Rizzo to anyone else here. I'm just saying if Rizzo doesn't develop our plans will be changed....... The "Oh Truffle" is a bit asinine. Also, Rizzo is only 24 and having a pretty decent year. The guy isn't done adjusting or developing. The odds of Vogelbach or 95% of prospects producing like Rizzo has in the majors are small.

  11. Hendricks final line for his AAA debut: 7 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 9/3 GO/FO on 89 pitches.
  12. Hendricks thru 6 on 69 pitches.
  13. Kyle Hendricks is the freaking man.

  15. Yeah and Jesse Rogers doesn't seem to know how baseball works at all.
  16. Excellent. They could use the help.
  17. I'm not. He hasn't been good since parts of 2011.
  18. More like 6 consecutive games because I believe at least 2 of those days were double headers.
  19. Yeah - I just went with what MiLB.com had. It looks like Iowa has updated but Tennessee still hasn't updated ther web site. Oh cool. Just glad I'm not going crazy.
  20. Wait I thought Hendricks had been sent down to the AZL briefly to prep for AAA. Did I imagine that?
  21. Don't think the teams already in the Carolina League know how bad the FSL and California League are. The Cubs couldn't make a move this past offseason for that reason. I get all this, but I've also gotta believe they're gonna try pretty hard to get into the CL.
  22. Well that certainly makes things a bit more interesting.
