  1. LOL, I don't want him but if Lou wants another utility infielder he's a better option than Cedeno (who needs to do more than sit on a bench). Who else is there for the infield (besides Theriot)?
  2. At least the Brewers broadcast is calling the game... Get Bud out of the booth!
  3. Bud doing a tap dance around the Bonds situation.
  4. Bud's trying to talk up the parity of the NLC.
  5. I think that's Bud trying to get in the good graces of Cubs fans.
  6. 4? He had the first start of ST so I think he's ready for 4 innings.
  7. Does Colvin have a shot at making the team if we go with 11 pitchers? Or who would be the 25th man behind Floyd, Ward, Theriot, Pagan, and Blanco? No, he needs to go and work on his game instead of sitting around on the bench. The Cubs have bigger plans for him... Colvin will probably be sent out early to join his minor-league team (probably Peoria). He's looked good here. As is the case with many No. 1 picks, he got the ST invite as part of his deal. Baseball people I've talked to really like him. That's encouraging although, I now have faith in the Cubs scouts (with Wilken on board).
  8. Santo just reiterated that Prior's next start is in MiL camp.
  9. Striking out with RISP is why Soriano hits leadoff.

  11. i thought lilly was a fly ball pitcher. sure a sinker would get groundouts, but overall? Normally, he's an extreme fly ball pitcher but he's working a sinker into his repertoire. This Spring he's been getting a lot of ground balls. Yesterday I read that he's trying to gain confidence in the pitch so he can use it during the regular season. Every little bit helps!
  12. If Marquis' sinker is working he definitely won't be giving up 30+ homeruns... As exciting is Lilly developing a sinker ball. He too has been getting the majority of his outs on ground balls. You have to love that! :D
  13. That's what I'm most excited about-not even that he hasn't given up many runs at all, but the fact that most of his outs are ground balls-if he continues to do that, he'll have a good season. I totally agree. Caught stealing!
