  1. Gallagher hasn't shown much this Spring He seems overwhelmed
  2. Sometimes he doesn't sound like he's prepared? The point of listening to Ron Santo is to hear someone so passionate, someone who lives and dies with every pitch. I don't listen for a cross between Steve Stone and Baseball Prospectus. Yes but is that what he's there for? He's like a fan... Sometimes all you get are grunts and if Pat asks him a question sometimes he doesn't know or is ill-informed. I listen to a lot of different calls and there's no doubt he is an acquired taste. On the other hand, Pat is a great broadcaster.
  3. I don't think they mentioned it. I know it just cleared the wall. :D
  4. WOW, Izturis walks again. This isn't a coincidence. The Cubs are different. YES!!! Jake Fox
  5. Same here. I realize now I love Pat and Ron, but I prefer it when I'm listening to them while watching the broadcast. Pat and Ron are entertaining but Ron is a bad broadcaster. He usually sounds lost Ron is not technically proficient as a broadcaster, no. But I'd say his enthusiasm and emotion certainly saves him from being "bad." Harry "technically" was a horrible broadcaster as well. But we loved him anyways! A little personality can go a long ways... At one time Harry was a very good broadcaster. He became a cuddly HOF icon in his Cubs days.

I like Ron as a former Cubs player but if your aim is to get information from the broadcast, Ron isn't the answer. If you listen to the objective analysis of Ron's work it isn't favorable. I hate to be critical of him but some times he doesn't sound like he's prepared. Dempster was in rare form!

  8. Wow, that was a bad half inning. No one scored after having 2 runners in scoring position with one out. :?
  9. There definitely appears to be a change in philosophy with respect to taking pitches/attacking the right pitches.
  10. The Cubs are showing much more plate discipline overall. It's great to see!
  11. I was pleased with Marquis' outing. He pitches to contact so I expect his innings to be busy but as long as he continues to get ground balls, he'll be fine. Woody in!
  12. Are you serious? I missed that news. Well, it's more wishful thinking than anything. There is supposed to be a meeting sometime in March, and March 12th sticks in my memory for some reason. The meeting is to address the fact the veteran's committee has fallen down on the job. Whether that means change or not has yet to be determined. Ah, I see
  13. Izzy walks he's showing a lot of patience this Spring.
