  1. I'm not going to worry about his reaction in the longterm. The situation is fresh and he's bitter (as most people in his situation would be). A number of things can happen in the next 2 seasons to change his mind...
  2. Any specifics? OF is horrible Pie should have stayed with the Cubs even though he had a bad 2006 (not true) Prior is bitter and sounded like he might want to be traded--then he claimed Prior joked about the demotion (being in the Futures Game) so which is it?? He said some other things I can't recall. The tenor of the discussion was sarcastic; he spent more time making fun of the Cubs than talking about anything substantial.
  3. In other news, Paul Sullivan is trashing the Cubs on The Score; talking about Prior is bitter among other things.
  4. Must be last minute changes. Colvin in RF Cedeno SS
  5. Not to mention 2003 Prior with 245 K's 50 BB 2004: 139/48 2005: 188/59
  6. I'm not sure that there is any correlation between being a high strikeout pitcher and allowing lots of walks. That's not true. If the Spring is any indication of the season, both Hill and Zambrano will have much improved control. As already mentioned, Hill did not walk anyone all Spring and Zambrano's percentage of walks was markedly reduced. I'm also encouraged by Lilly's GB% (increased use of a sinker) but think he will struggle, overall, to be efficient with his pitches. One of the main reasons why Ted has failed to pitch 200 innings in his career is because he uses a lot of pitches early. However, he seems to be employing a better game plan this ST. Lt's hope these trends continue into the Regular Season.
  7. Bruce Miles thinks it will be Doug Davis.
  8. He better keep pitching like he has something to prove (because the jury is still out).
  9. That's my vote too although, I always have sports radio on.
  10. Now Sisco is in Ozzie's doghouse even though they added him to the final 25 man roster: Sounds like Gullien will be employing a lot of fear and intimidation this year. Tribune It would be fun if they went 72-90, as BP predicts, just to see Guillen's daily rants!
  11. Andy has already accepted a job to do play by play for the Padres (I've heard him call games against the Cubs this ST). The new guy will take over Masur's former duties. The article also says he will probably make his WGN radio debut on Saturday with the Cubs in Las Vegas.
  12. Teddy Greenstein / Tribune
  13. Obviously, Grace has some beef with Dempster. It makes no sense to single him out as if he is the biggest weakness on the team.
  14. FYI, extensive Cubs baseball talk on ESPN AM 1000 Listen Live Scheduled Bruce Levine Chris De Luca Paul Sullivan and others
  15. I hope he means that. Of course he does! They're not going to leave a dominating Mark Prior in AAA. He seems like he might be working in that direction. It also seems like Bruce and Lou are on the same page when they both said today that Prior may only be 2-3 weeks to a month away from returning. There's no official time table but if he's good he'll be back.
  16. How do you know he threw in the 90s? Bruce Miles said there was no radar reading available. Also, Prior is under contract through 2008. There's no reason for them to release him and they aren't going to get much value in a trade with him in the MiLs.

  18. I knew it as going to happen it's still shocking to see. I saw on Comcastsportsnet that Hendry and Lou spoke with him about it--he wasn't happy (as you'd expect). Hopefully, it motivates him to return quickly.
  19. Yep: So 12 pitchers (Wuertz & Guzman)?
