  1. Lou didn't have a postgame press conference: Tribune
  2. Please tell me this isn't the night Rich has a bad game. Once again, he's asked to stop a losing streak.
  3. Tribune Isn't this Hendry basically admitting that Miller sucks instead of contending he's injured?
  4. I agree that he won't necessarily be the first batter everytime he comes to the plate (outside of his first AB) but, I do think that Soriano is most productive at the top of the order. He's not a very good hitter with RISP and he doesn't seem to hit off speed pitches well.
  5. LOL@the DL. Miller on the DL = buying time. I doubt there's anything really wrong with him other than his ineffectiveness.
  6. It's not over. Monday he's in studio for 2 hours (4pm-6pm).
  7. Now The Score is reporting that Wade Miller hasn't dressed for tonight's game and there's no explanation for it yet.
  8. Holy Crap, Floyd in RF. I'm not that into defense, but that is really bad. Yeah, Cliff in RF is scary.
  9. At the top of the hour, Stone also said he was surprised that Marmol didn't get the callup over Cherry. I think the Cubs want to keep him in the rotation at AAA for a while longer. Cherry will help with the bullpen... The Cubs don't need another 5th starter until May 1.
  10. Soriano is in LF, Floyd is in RF, Jones in CF, DeRosa 2B I don't have the order but I know those guys are in the lineup.
  11. Steven Stone is on B&B right now speculating that Wade Miller has made his last start for the Cubs. The Score
  12. Awesome. Who's out though? George Ofman was speculating Wade Miller but he also said "nothing is official yet." This might go right down to gametime.
  13. The Score is reporting that Rocky Cherry is at Wrigley Field.
  14. I don't know how many times it's happened in the history of MLB but the Dodgers did it last year.
  15. I'm sorry. My father wasn't a baseball fan but my brother is a Sox fan and it's a pain...
  16. Oh man, I can actually see the e-steam coming out of your virtual ears. What do you say we actually get back on the point? DLee had better hit a home run soon, he's not going to keep hitting at this level unless his power comes back. No steam coming out of my ears; I'm as strong willed as you... Back on point, I'm not worried about DLee's power because he's hitting for average and getting on base at a high rate.
  17. Mocking your post count. And before I get into trouble, I am obviously in no way a mod (though I should be). Stop directing traffic. God, how much do you love me? Please stop posting in this thread, for the good of us all. ps actually don't, this whole thing will just be deleted later, so have at it. I wonder if those posts will get taken off your post count? I'd hate for these last 30 minutes of your life to have been wasted. You must love me because you're the one who replied to my post first.

  19. If you aren't going to be serious, then I'm done here. I thought we were having a detailed statistical conversation here. You're the one who jacked the thread by telling me to "move on." You're not a moderator. I actually finished second in the public vote for moderator back in 2001, and I'm assistant regional moderator at the moment, so move on. I haven't done anything to prompt moving on. A moderator wouldn't be calling someone out for posting "7000" times. You're the one who started an argument here. I come to this site because I like it, it makes no sense to discourage posting. I can't believe I'm still going on about this. You were attempting a serious argument on a topic where one wasn't needed. Much like I'm doing here, apparently. I'm just saying, there's no reason to argue with someone who thinks that two crappy players will hit a home run before Lee. It's like arguing with someone who says "Dude, Where's My Car" is his favorite movie. Who cares? Again, move on, this is stupid. (I'm only posting so I can keep up with your post count.) Again, you're being insulting. Why would a moderator discourage posting? I haven't broken a rule so there's no reason for all of this... This is very weird; The day I signup to become a Premium member I have someone mocking my posts. Lovely

  22. Was the guy trying to "prove" anything? Not everything someone says on this website needs detailed analysis. Move on. Are you directing traffic on this message board? You're the one looking for an argument. If someone makes a point I have every right to disagree and if you don't like it you don't have to read it. You really want to keep talking about this? You hit triple digits today in posts, a new personal best! You can disagree with someone's post all you want, but it only makes you look stupid if you pick a dumb one to argue. It's not like the guy is making some deep philosophical post on the state of the Cubs front office or something, he said he thinks two crappy players will hit home runs before Lee does, it was just hyperbole and it's definitely not worth your consternation. But then again, you didn't get to 7,000 posts in 2 weeks by not posting. I'm glad you're keeping a tally. You must be an undercover mod. Oh wait...

  24. That has nothing to do with how many he will hit this season. Neither does the rest of the thread. Why does it matter when he hits a homer? He's still hitting well and that's all that matters. This is overblown. What does that have to do with what gflore said? Comparing him to Juan Pierre or David Eckstein is ridiculous. Even if both of those guys hit homers tomorrow it wouldn't prove that Lee can't hit home runs. No one compared him to them, give me a break. Someone said he thinks they will hit a HR before he does. That's not even close to the same thing. Then why name two extremely light hitters? You give me a break. Because it's more dramatic than naming two average hitters? I mean, how many name players in the league don't have a HR already? You're just looking for an argument, and you picked a dumb one. Move on. I don't have to "move on." The "argument" is that Pierre and Eckstein will hit homers before Lee. My point is it doesn't prove anything about his power (or lack thereof). If Pierre hits a homer tomorrow, and Lee doesn't, what does that prove? Absolutely nothing.
