This guy is booted and I think the last one was too. Interesting - they boot him but it wasn't fan interference? Technically it was interference, the umps just didn't call it. Both times a guy reached over into the field of play and redirected the ball.

Deal with it. I think that disrespectufl bashing of players sucks and is pathetic. I have every right to voice that opinion. If you think it's cool, so be it. If message boards could be rid of annoyances, there would be none that exist. I annoy you, the bashing annoys me. I'm done talking about this. If Mojo and CubbieChris think Barrett is awful and has always been mediocre to bad, then so be it. I can certainly have my own opinion of those views. I say the same to you!

I'm laughing at people. Really its annoying because you're telling us how we should react. Just take care of your own reactions and everone will be fine.

I'm appalled by watching him play the game. That's funny. The last three years, he's been one of the very few reasons to watch the Cubs, and two bad months into the next season, everybody says they can't stand him. Barrett haters remind me way too much of Yankee fans... that whole "what have you done for me lately?" crap. It's disgusting... and it's certainly not befitting of a Cubs fan. Again, the only real value Barrett has is his offense. You can call out the people that have "turned on him" all you want but I have seen very little redeeming qualities from him this season. It would be one thing if he were holding his own in other areas of the game, but he has regressed defensively (and offensively to a degree). Currently, Barrett is just a few notches above Jacque Jones on this team's value scale. His home runs have been the difference and until I see an overall improvement from him offensively I will continue to be disappointed with his playing time.

He's only here for his offense. If he can't come through in those spots he's basically useless.

As they should... Wells was rattled and the umpire was squeezing him. You'd think MB would try to work it to his advantage. I swear Barrett doesn't think like a catcher.

I heard the lineup earlier on the radio while jogging. I think it's: Soriano Pie Lee Floyd DeRosa Barrett Fontenot Theriot Lilly I know Barrett is 6th and Fontenot and Theriot follow him... Floyd hits pretty well off of LHP in his career (.273). The article said that Pagan would start against some lefties (implying that Floyd would get the majority of the time) but I think Lou feels Cliff can handle Wells. This year Cliff is hitting .375 against lefties in 8 ABs.

It was short. Demp wasn't available and Eyre has been banished in close and late games (plus, he admitted that he didn't want to bring Rapada into a bases loaded situation) so he had to pick and choose between his available veteran arms.

One could argue that if DeRo doesn't make an error, the inning ends on a 6-4-3 DP and Marquis goes at least 6 innings with no ERs. I think hitting Weaver unnerved him because he was sailing along up to that point in the game.
