  1. I'll be generous... give your hopeful prediction and then your realistic/actual prediction. I'll go first; HOPEFUL Prediction: American League Divisional Series; Boston Red Sox over Los Angeles Angels, 3-2 Cleveland Indiana over NY Yankees, 3-0 National League Divisional Series; Chicago Cubs over Arizona Diamondbacks, 3-1 (don't want it over TOO soon) Colorado Rockies over Philadelphia Phillies, series goes 5 games (a couple extra-innings affairs at the end - HFA for Cubs in NLCS!) American League Championship Series; Boston Red Sox over Cleveland Indians, 4-3 (extremely hard fought series) National League Championship Series; Chicago Cubs over Colorado Rockies, 4-1 (don't want it over TOO soon) World Series; Chicago Cubs over Boston Red Sox, 4-0 or 4-1 REALISTIC Prediction: American League Divisional Series; Boston Red Sox over Los Angeles Angels, 3-2 NY Yankees over Cleveland Indians, 3-1 National League Divisional Series; Chicago Cubs over Arizona Diamondbacks, 3-1 Philadelphia Phillies over Colorado Rockies, 3-1 American League Championship Series; NY Yankees over Boston Red Sox, 4-2 or 4-3 National League Championship Series; Philadelphia Phillies over Chicago Cubs, 4-2 or 4-3 World Series; NY Yankees over Philadelphia Phillies, 4-1 or 4-2
  2. Except for the fact that it ended up right there and Barret blocked Holliday off the plate, that throw was TERRIBLE!!! That throw makes almost all of JJ's throws to home look awesome!
  3. Does anyone else smell a bit of a suspension or something coming for McClelland(sp?)?? Or at least being unable to ump the rest of the playoffs?? Extremely hard to tell, maybe his hand got in as it was coming out from under Barrett's foot, but sure didn't look like it. In the end, I think Colorado probly wins it, but still... WOW!! After seeing some real slow replays... I think he was out, 110% sure of it!!

  5. My guess is that the first two days will go like this: Weds, October 3rd: 12:30 Rockies/Padres @ Phillies 4:00 Red Sox @ Angels 7:30 Cubs @ D'Backs Thurs, October 4th: 2:30 Rockies/Padres @ Phillies 6:30 Yankees @ Indians 9:30 Cubs @ D'Backs That's the most ratings friendly schedule given where the series are being played. + 1 (maybe switch the BOS/LAA and CHC/ARI games around on Wednesday, but otherwise, looks about perfect from this angle) I just realized... unless there's something I'm not getting, Boston won HFA for the whole playoffs - should they reach the WS - due to having the best record in AL (& MLB) and thanks to the American League winning the AS Game. So that means that the LAA/BOS series kicks off in Boston. on the East coast. And that also means that should lock the LAA/BOS & ?/PHI series into the first 2 timeslots on Wednesday, both sites being on EST time. [1:30p and 5p, their respective local times] So in a long roundabout way, I think Warren Brusstar is spot on with his picks for the games in the time slots he specified; just switch it around to Angels @ Red Sox.

I see your reason for hesitation, but would you punish either of BOS/LAA or CHC/ARI by having them start at 10:30a locally?? Its a bind, but the only thing makes sense is to make the SD (or COL)/PHI series kick it off; it'd be 1:30p local time in Philly. Moreover, I suspect the Cubs/D'backs is a better TV draw than the Red Sox/Angels. I'm not sure about that... I think the Cubs & Red Sox are pretty much a wash, but the Angels will draw more viewers than the Dbacks. It could go either way though. In 2003, the networks went out of their way to get every Cubs game in primetime, even moving the Yankees to a day game. There's a reason for that. The Cubs are a HUGE draw in the playoffs Hard to forget, all I remember about it is how "The Boss" pissed and moaned because the Cubs were stealing HIS playoff time slots.

  8. Stretching it out, the Cubs/Dbacks [and COL or SD/PHI] will play both games 3 & 4 on Saturday and Sunday (or at least currently scheduled that way). Game times for those days are all listed above, but TNT has the other game on Sunday, and that game's start time could be anywhere between 12 and 7p. Considering that our Game 3 will be in the CST and the other NLDS Game 3 will either be in the MST or PST, I'll bet we are the 4:30p game on Saturday, and one of the earlier start times on Sunday.

  10. Well, at least we get a 1-game playoff. San Diego @ Colorado tomorrow, to determine the WC winner, and who gets to start a series @ Philadelphia on Wednesday (or Thursday?).
  11. Don't care how we do it, but if we can get to Wrigley with the series sitting at 1-1, gotta like our chances.
  12. Going Joe Namath with this one... "When I look back on it, the same 3 words just keep coming out... We did it. *big smile* We did it!"
  13. At this point, I'd take anyone not named the Philadelphia Phillies or Colorado Rockies, at least in the NLDS. I'd take anyone. Bring 'em on. True, we don't have a choice... just saying if I did, that be the way I'd go. Its all good! =D>
