    Actually, as crazy as this sounds, this might be a night where I wouldn't mind alot of 1st-pitch swinging by the Cubs. ARam's 1st pitch was the one to hit a couple minutes ago.

    What is that very faint odor I'm detecting... Oh yes, its the smell of a possible HFA, for the chance to represent the NL in the World Series, IF the Cubs beat the Dbacks. Which would resemble 2003 in a lot of ways... but here's to hoping that IF the Cubs/Rockies play, the 2007 result is much better than the 2003 NLCS.

    3-0 Rocks now. Ouch for Hamels and PHI. 3 walks in the inning, 2 back-to-back. And then Holliday hits it a mile, but curved foul.

    First 3 innings should probly tell us all we need to know as to what to expect for the last 6 innings; or at least I hope so. Last thing I want to see is the Cubs get a more-than-1-run lead early, but then end up either going extras to win, or lose late (or in extras). I gotta be up early [for me] and it'll be a real bear trying to get any sleep at all, let alone right after the game, if that above scenario happens.

    I was rooting for a Cubs/Red Sox WS, but since the Red Sox won the WS a couple years back and have been good ever since... loses the appeal it would have had, had it happened back in '03. As long as the Cubs reach the WS, I don't care at this point who the opponent will be; although a Cubs/RS or Cubs/NYY WS would be "off the charts" in terms of ratings for FOX.

    Just heard "Go Cubs Go" on a local radio station in eastern Iowa. Still almost 9 hours away from game time, but man if that doesn't get the blood pumping and excitement going!!
