  1. 8.59 if you take out his decent start against the Mets.

  3. Thanks Z! A winless August for our ace!
  4. This is like the 800th time this has happened, and just like last night. A pitcher can do nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, about bloop hits. They are pop ups that found a hole in the defense. But he CAN stop hitting batters, he CAN stop walking people, he CAN keep his composure in critical spots in the game...and he's NOT doing any of this!
  5. There's a break...a very, very small one... One less RBI for Prince...one more for Braun.
  6. So I am right, DeRosa leads with 13 ;) And all three of them have less than 400 ABs coming in.
  7. Before tonight's game, the Cubs had grounded into 96 DPs. DeRosa, ARAM, and Jock went in tied with 12 a piece.
  8. If his spot comes up this inning, he's done...if not...no reason why you don't send him out to at least start the 7th.
  9. Simply pathetic...so much for my optimism about this game.
  10. Phew! Time to put Sheets on the ropes and get into that pen from the 6th on!
  11. Only the Cubs....oh wait....the Brewers!!! WOW!
  12. Hold them this inning, and I think we explode in the bottom of the frame and then send Sheets packing.
  13. Len and Bob said 85-100 earlier this inning...Bob speculated 85 would be generous. Sheets probably has another inning, then to the vaunted BP.

  16. Including tonight, Ankiel has struck out 10 of his 24 AB's -- 42% of the time. He's walked once. Ryan Howard, the league leader in Ks, has struck out 38% of his ABs, but he's also 4th in the league having drawn 77 BBs. Small sample size, yes...but in the end, I can't see a ton of good coming out of this experiment.
  17. I've got street-level radar here at the station, and it shows Wrigley to be rain-free!
