  1. Get your fat hiney out there, Froeming. Get into a position to make the call.
  2. why? That's the first thing I thought of when that happened. I always referred to that type of hit as the "Baltimore Chop" Me too, pretty universal I thought. Orrrr, lol, "chopper two hopper" *pulls Garwilly into clubhouse and pummels him* But I didn't allow a passed ball, or throw it into left field!! The only one who control my temper is God, and you ain't him. *throws Garwilly into locker* It's not like we're going to get suspended.

  4. It sure is a lot more fun watching the Cubs not suck.
  5. Why doesn't Lou ever give the grand slam sign? The steam signals coming out his ears were it, but the players like to miss signs.
  6. Why do you say that? Colvin's holding his own in Daytona after skipping Peoria. He still wouldn't be expected to jump three levels by next year. So if he is in the Cubs outfield next year that would be out of desperation. Doh! I thought it said 2009. Me no read too good.

  8. Well at least two of our outfielders can hit the cutoff man on less than 6 bounces. That's always nice.
  9. ...and half a dozen other players on this team.
  10. I'd sign Prior up for a low cost 3-4 contract. I'm not sure how much it would take, but he could use a little security right now. If it doesn't pan out, oh well. We've thrown more money at less talent.
  11. Prepare your god for blood. Heathen. * Deadwood reference
  12. Jeff has a 2.32 GO/AO ratio. His ERA and H/9 is going to be largely impacted by the defense he gets, especially in a small sample size. Is he missing bats? Nope. He's supposedly been told to use his change a lot (not his best pitch by a long shot). He's pitching to develop skills, not get people out. From all accounts, Samardzija's slider hasn't progressed as rapidly as we'd like to see. When you're throwing fastballs and changeups (again, not his best pitch), you're going to get rocked. How does Hill do when he can spot the fastball? He gets hammered. One pitch isn't enough. It was the same from college up through the pro levels for Hill. Don't judge a pitcher before his time.
  13. Jones is a better RF than Murt and I don't think it's all that close. I'm sick of Jacque. Murton's not great but if I have to see Jacque make the same 5th-grade mistakes at bat and in the field anymore I'm going to put a brick through my TV. Save up for a new TV.
  14. so because rios worked out, samardzija will too? ok. No, it means just b/c someone doesn't succeed immediately, don't write them off. You are a Hill fan, are you not? You should know something about not judging a prospect prematurely. Rios was widely panned when Wilken selected him. Geez, scouts scoffed at him for the first 3 years of his pro career. How's that turned out? Maybe - just maybe - Wilken has a freaking clue what he's doing.
  15. 2.89 ERA, 1.03 WHIP after 71.2 IP 8-)
