But we have an opportunity to gain a game on the Cardinals. Yes, there will be others, but you have to take advantage when you can. There is no reason this team should be looking as bad as it has been tonight. None whatsoever. It happens to the best teams in the world.
Well that was worthless. So I take it hes signed by the Cards and developes a 105 MPH fast ball. OMG, every player who's ever played for the Cardinals has turned to GOLD! The Cardinals are the luckiest team in baseball. Cardinals, yeah! Pixie dust! You forgot pixie dust!
Ah, okay. Hopefully Vitters' injury doesn't prove to be a huge problem. And maybe I'm not properly evaluating his numbers, but what Castro has done doesn't look overly impressive. Is he playing at an advanced level for his age?
As I've said here a couple times, I'm no minor league expert. So my question is, is Vitters' stock falling? I had never thought of him as anything but the Cubs consensus number one prospect.
Assuming Lou won't part with Heilman, we run into a bad situation in which Stevens probably goes back to Iowa. That's what I'd think, anyway. Either way, I'd imagine Gorz would stay up, right?
I'm reasonably confident that both the Cubs and Cardinals will make the playoffs. I hate to say it, but I'm not quite so confident it'll be the Cubs who end up with the division crown. Who knows though. But think both the Cubs and Cardinals are better than Colorado or San Francisco.
Say what you want about Joel Pinero, but he's always had great stuff and had some success with the Mariners before tailing off. I think your assumption is optimistic.
You know damn well that's not true. There's always PLENTY of chance that a team IN FIRST PLACE will make the playoffs.A 43% chance in fact: http://www.baseballprospectus.com/statistics/ps_odds.php I wish we had better odds than that.
