There shouldn't be. He's been our best player for 3 years. Best position player. I'd argue Big Z as the best Cubs player though during that time period. In 2005, I think Lee has to get some credit. From 2004 to 2006, and thru 2007 so far, Aramis has been far superior. Lee wasn't very good in 2004. How can you argue that? He wasn't a star, but he still had a 114 OPS+ and hit 30+ homers. He didn't get the OBP as high as usual, but I don't think it's fair to say he wasn't very good.
