  1. I thought I read somewhere that are Pythag is right in line now. The only games we seem to win are the one run variety and get curb stomped when we lose. yea, its right on down to D3 (the cubs are actually one better than that right now for the first time in years). This isn't as good as we had hoped but they have a good chance to win the division.
  2. this kind of horsefeathers seems to be happening a lot lately too
  3. seriously. scoring runs is about not making outs and not leaving runners on base. and we have a guy slugging .323 batting behind our two best obp guys. and we're too hard on Maddon
  4. weirded out or just annoyed that they can't be home to watch?
  5. he doesn't even turn around. I'm pretty sure anyone on the infield knew from the sound off the bat . . .
  6. That's exactly what I was thinking. If you didn't suffer through the first 8.5 innings, it wouldn't be as great but oh was it great!
  7. the sound of 10,000 brewers fans screaming out in agony all at once. legendary.
  8. Tuchel seems to really like him, so that's a positive (funny that's it's Tuchel with Weah now).
  9. he hasn't played much for the senior side yet - I love his attitude even if he is crazy optimistic. Hopefully he can find minutes maybe even some before PSG leads 4-0.
  10. I think there's a pretty big middle ground between, "anything can happen between between 'typical' playoff teams," and, "a good team that unfortunately kind of hit the wall due to injuries and an imploding starting rotation probably has a better shot of a rough go of it in the playoffs." Again, just boiling down to, "BUT LOOK AT THEIR RECORD," and, "anything can happen in the playoffs" feels more like handwaving away how the team is actually performing right now and what they're dealing with right now as the season winds down. I would really be surprised if they didn't make the playoffs, but I'm also not really expecting them to do much in the playoffs barring Bryant and at least one other starting pitcher really roaring back as themselves. I think these are called "the dog days of summer" for a reason. I'd rather see Joe give a guy like Lester short outings on purpose or a skip in the rotation, but it would be a lot easier if the Brewers would fade away to 7 or more back. I've worried about the SP since Chatwood couldn't harness his stuff in April. Darvish could still be tipping pitches and injured for all we know. Whatever happens, I'm enjoying the hell out of this season. the Brewers have done their part of fading away . . .
  11. KB is having surgery? I just read he took “dry swings” with no pain, nothing about surgery he walked without assistance yesterday - doctors now think he may recover full use of his extremities
  12. yea, but without carpenter, the cards would be like 8 or 9 games out.
  13. but can he hit the one-hopper?
  14. until they sweep the cubs next week I’m actually wondering who we’ll be cheering for when the Cards and Brewers face off next weekend. They are inching closer to each other. the Cubs.
