  1. I take it back. run it up the middle and let the clock run. war of attrition. this was one of the most physical games I have ever seen.
  2. this is a great game. robinson is going to collapse at the end of this. hopefully jopa goes for the end zone instead of settling for a FG here.
  3. first mistake loses. FSU has made two now. gutsy call by bowden but it may cost him the game.
  4. I'm not sure what this means. I think he means that some people are being a little over dramatic. Yes, you guys are instantly thinking that they are going to have a spot on the main roster which isn't the case. Easy the reins on the saddle a little bit. Nothing wrong with Restovich or Ojeda playing in Iowa and Grissom sitting on the pine in Chicago and batting against lefties. who assumed that?
  5. didn't they tie the game in the second half and then proceed to miss about five shots in a row? I agree they lost the game in the first half but they definitely were out of gas the last two minutes.
  6. his problem is that he doesn't know a ball from a strike.
  7. It's all relative I suppose. I have never seen a study that indicates teams FG % goes down towards the end of the year. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case though. Entering the game tonight IU led the nation in FG%. I'm not sure if that is still the case. Some of that may be tired legs, but I'd guess that in major conferences FG% drops from playing solid competition in every single game. It doesn't matter if it's the ACC/B10/B12/Big East or if they are having an up or down year, there's none of the extreme patsies that ALL teams play in the nonconference schedule. didn't I say that?
  8. I guess I should add that this applies to jump-shooting teams - most teams that lead the nation in percentage pound the ball inside I would bet.
  9. they may still lead the league but they will face tough D every night now. if you look at illinois's games last year, they dominated games after layoffs louisville versus arizona and shot poorly on short rest late in the season. ok, I never looked it up but it sure seemed that way.
  10. safety? Boy that was close.
  11. I'm guessing butkus runs hard through the tackle. sloppy sloppy play for PSU
  12. I would expect IU's shooting to get worse in the big ten season and when their legs start to get tired. the difference in shooting for the illini at the end of the season got much worse. I would be willing to bet they win the NC if they get a week off between the semifinals.
  13. this is a very boring game.
  14. what about restovich do you guys like? I see nothing that makes me think he is a big league caliber ballplayer?
  15. They did in terms of points. No underclassman has left Mack Brown early from Austin, apparently - Vince is as good a player as any to leave early though. Vince needs to work on his throwing mechanics, but that's better fixed at the pros, imo. He should be a top 5 pick despite his mechanics. I would agree with that. he won't be able to outrun everyone in the pros. bush won't either. it will be interesting to see how they adjust their styles.
  16. so goes the second great flaw with the cubs . . .get the wrong players then misuse them to make them worse. f jones, he's a platoon player.
  17. didn't they surpasss sc's offense this year? Why would he return? Sounds foolish to me.
  18. I'm not sure what this means. I think he means that some people are being a little over dramatic. Is there such a thing as being over dramatic with this team? we all know what an nri is - who is over-dramatic?
  19. starting against all lefties would be what, 40 starts or so? I know you're right of course, it just makes me sick. Frankly I don't care what Jones wants. Maybe we can trade him to KC.
  20. I'm in favor of platooning grissom with jones. combined you get a .340ish OBP and decent defense.
  21. no kidding. the jones signing makes no sense.
