  1. It's still winter break, that's why Assembly wasn't as loud IMO. Musberger is a human wasteland. Musburger sucks. AH just isn't that loud. Compared to the old chicago stadium at least.
  2. Augie seems to vanish against good centers.
  3. Maybe we should talk about defense. Weber is the best coach in the big ten.
  4. Anyone want to talk about Dee Brown? Anyone? Bueller?
  5. One theory I had after watching 2004 was that Clement really is hurt by his asthma in the summertime. He really labored in many outings leading into his decline. He may need to be held to 24-28 starts to maintain effectiveness.
  6. I know he's an aggressive guy, but I really would've made Texas go the extra 30+ yards by punting that last 4th down. Clock would've been a much bigger enemy for UT then. I liked the move going for it. They should have just let the Youngs score faster!
  7. he needed an urlacher to spy on him. I was shocked there was no spy on that last TD. 13 other teams had the same problem though.
  8. me too. but you don't say that. USC didn't come out with intensity in the first half and this time there was a team good enough to take advantage.
  9. agreed. The NFL and NBA don't come close to matching the intensity of college football and college basketball. Winning for a school/students always trumps winning for a city (read: winning for cash) Meanwhile college baseball doesn't get a large enough following. Probably because the powerhouse programs aren't in major cities (or the east coast) actually, I think having more drafted college players hitting the pros faster will help. get rid of the PING factor too. But then again, nobody I knew went to college baseball games.
  10. Probably. But then again there are not that many VYoung's or Michael Vick's around. I wonder what would happen if Bush was a QB on his HS team instead of RB, and was recruited as a QB? I don't think there will be a movement. While there will be players like Vick and Young, they will be rare and being QB is a very difficult position. Throwing the ball accurately is really hard. Micheal Robinson is an example of a very athletic WR moved to QB, and while he has had some success, he probably won't make a big splash in the NFL, at least not as a QB, but I could see him moved back to WR. the other thing to consider is the money. teams don't like to see million dollar qbs taking running back hits.
  11. What? How did they not? They were given the trophy and declared Nat. Champions... because the BCS is BS. Had LSU played USC, we would have had a champion. But they didn't, so we don't know. I don't think the BCS system justifies declaring LSU the champion just because a bunch of greedy schools agreed to a clearly flawed system. I really don't understand why anyone cares so much though? Are you that defensive of LSU or just that hateful of USC? They did the best they could with 3 undefeated teams I guess. I just don't like LSU getting forgotten in the face of a "good story". Is the BCS flawed? Sure, but if that's the season, you can't pick and choose when it suits you and when it doesn't. LSU won the BCS trophy that year period. I think that's the price they pay for being LSU and not USC. No one will remember how great Illinois was last year because the story was UNC. Big stories dominate. I see your point that its not fair, but I wouldn't be so hung up on it. USC has a right to claim a three year string of greatness.

Are you that defensive of LSU or just that hateful of USC? Hmm... I think the fans of LSU care. You are basically saying that their national championship didn't count while yours did, despite not actually winning it. no, I'm saying they both count, which is the fairest solution in my opinion.
  13. fortunately football teams are far more experimental than baseball teams. I think if Vick and Young are successful in the NFL, you might see that trend. Otherwise isn't it just old school college football?

  15. man, you are bitter. no he doesn't... you are just pissed that he just beat your team. I'll cut the guy some slack. He just beat the "unbeatable team" who the media has been drooling over for the past month. That's what I'm saying. I hate Texas as much as anyone, but all year it's been Leinart/Bush/USC/3 Peat. PUKE. I can't blame Texas for being a bit overstated, they earned it. Any other scenario, and I'd have been rooting for SC, but they really needed to go away. Listening to the media fellate them for weeks over a 3 peat would have been nearly unbearable. Dealing with all the Texans here will be bad, but slightly more tolerable. Especially since they didn't win the BCS championship 2 years ago. But why bring that up? It's only a lie that this would have been a three peat. With the BCS installed as the system for a "true national champion", no one should recognize the polls at the end of the year at all. No split champions, nothing. If the BCS is the system, then that is the system. the B /end bitter rant....for now the BCS sucks. get over it. LSU didn't win that championship anymore than USC. Who cares anyway?
  16. You don't sell the naming rights to a national championship trophy... no matter how much they are will to spend. Hey, it's cool. Institutions making millions on the backs of unpaid student athletes who can't even work part time in the school library. What's wrong with that? . College sports are ridiculous.
  17. I don't like Mack Brown either.
  18. Seriously. It looked like he might've been able to tightrope the sidelines and go for it. I'd like to see a replay. He was probably too concerned about the time (or getting tackled inbounds) I think it was a designed play to get 39 yards and get out of bounds. He could have cutback and had a lot more ground I think. If he gets tackled though, they have a long run to spike the ball. Losing that TO killed his options.
  19. Why the hate? Did Texas do anything to show themselves as classless this year? Did I miss something? No, its the fans. After living in Texas, I hoped to never see them win anything, Also Young petitioning for the Heisman was not really classy (that would be nitpicking) its the fans I knew in Texas.
  20. yep. except I hate Texas more.
  21. great question " no, I wanted to waste the TO"
  22. SC is still the better team in my opinion.
  23. terrible play by leinart. if you take that much time, you better throw to the end zone. I hate Texas.
  24. not over yet! What do they need, about ten yards for field goal?
