  1. Like last year, Yahoo Sports has some great vidoes of all the projected first round picks...very good vids http://sports.yahoo.com/s/nbadraft
  2. http://www.thestar.com/Sports/article/230301 Congrats to Ryan! That is a pretty amazing feat. Between A-Rod and Howard I'm hopefull that Bonds record* will only be temporary.
  3. I'd love to add Maddux as a veteran arm for us down the stretch..maybe we can deal Izturis for Maddux straight up?
  4. Let's see...maybe because his title is President, Baseball Operations of the Baltimore Orioles???? :-k And, usually Team Presidents, hire a GM that will have control over day to day baseball transactions. Hence my questioning/suggestion that MacPhail hire a GM, considering his GM skills, are, how should I say this...pitful?
  5. It seems like all the Zach Randolph rumors died...is he sitll on the trading block?
  6. Hollinger's rating system has been pretty darn accurate...It is really making me think the Bulls should stay clear of Haywes. I think Jordan takes Wright if he is there, but I guess McHail is in love with Hawyes, so maybe the Bulls could swing a trade where Minny drafts Wright, and the Bulls draft Hawes, then swap the picks.
  7. I don't think there's any doubt. Dempster hasn't done anything to lose the job this year, so he's still the closer. True, but right now Marmol is throwing at an elite level, Dempster wouldn't be losing his job, more like Marmol taking it. That being said, Marmol might be better off as the 8th inning type guy, when you really need a strikout.
  8. Who will be the closer when Dempster comes off the DL I wonder.
  9. I guess we will have to live with a 5 Million dollar PH hitter for now. Oh well, Pie and Pagan make next to nothing, so I guess it evens out? :P
  10. i think you're right, if the cubs trade him. If they don't, his arm falls off next year. I think Lou has been pretty good in terms of being aware of our young arms and watching their usage, IMO (Hill, Marshall, Marmol)
  11. I don't like to say stuff like this,(aka put young guys in the HOF) but I think Marmol is a future star closer. I really do.
  12. Berkman will choke..I just know it. They did not score. LOL..I knew that hack wouldn't come through for us  I really hate Berkman, don't ask me why...always have. We are like oil and water, we don't mix.
  13. That pic of Zell has mad photoshop potential. I suck with PS though. :(
  14. Bredan Wright just has soooo much physical talent, it would be sweet if he fell to the Bulls.
  15. yeah, these threads really never work out for the best.
  16. The middle of their lineup is an amazing combination of power, from both sides of the plate.
  17. LOL..welcome to the big leagues Billy, don't worry, you are still better than Eyre.
  18. Lots of room for improvement for Brandan, no doubt. But he'd be a steal at 9 and I like him more than Julian -- both in terms of fit for the Bulls and ceiling. Hollinger put together a college prospect ranking system recently. Good read (it's free!) and interesting tool. It's high on Brandan Wright. Wow..that list is real high on Young from Georgia Tech
  19. Angelo had a bunch of experience, but none as a GM. You're right, my bad. I thought that's the position he held in TB. I think he was head of player personel under the guy who is currently running the Falcons, but I'm not sure exactly. He's a longtime personel guy who has been very involved with the Bucs and Giants. The media lambasted the Bears for how they conducted the search for Angelo (employing an executive recruiting firm), but as it turns out it was a fantastic hire. It was a good hire, but the excutive search firm delivered the same list that could have been found on the back page of a .50 cent Sun Times paper.
  20. The latest mock on nbadraft.net has the Bulls taking Cory Brewer. Thoughts? Brewer is a hell of an athlete so I wouldn't mind the pick. You really can't reach in the NBA draft at all. So I wouldn't mind stockpiling another talented piece then possibly looking at a trade down the line.
