    I know this sounds weird, but I was Bartman's batboy when I was younger. He played with my brother on a youth traveling team based out of Niles called the Renegades. During the same time the foul ball happened, Bartman and my brother were assistant coaches for the same traveling team. Next time you see the replay you can see Bartman wearing a black Renegades sweatshirt. Even with decently close ties to him, I don't know much about Steve. He was friends with my brother, but after the foul ball he basically went into seclusion. They had "a party" for Steve to let him know he was still loved by his friends and family. My brother went to the party, but never really spoke with him thereafter. Bartman is a good person from what my brother has told me (I honestly don't remember much about him when I was the batboy), I hope he is doing well.

    Does Flaherty have any chance of being a corner OF defensively (I could see why this might seem as a stupid question)? Is he as athletic as DeRosa? I think that is where the comparison of Flaherty to Font and DeRo begins and ends. Decent AVG/OBP, what would be considered to pan out to MLB average, to below average power. Aren't we looking at utility/glove ability when it comes to the MLB at this point?

    I know the, "have you watched the games", is not a popular comment. But, to me, it seems Z's armslot is lower and he is slinging the ball instead of pitching. I was glad he went on the DL before the All-Star break. I thought he would have time to let the arm heal at least a little bit. The velocity on the fastball is still near the norm, but his strikeout rate is down, and that worries me. Z has not looked the same to me this year. The guy is a horse and his huge body allows him to keep the velocity up, it's not his arm. If anybody has video of Z's pitching motion and release of 2 years ago and today, I would love to see it. To me, he is a different pitcher. It seems like he slings and is afraid of "letting it go". I hope someone can prove me wrong.

    He will stay a recluse. If he wanted to cash in he would have done it a long time ago. He graduated from Notre Dame and was a consultant (I think), I doubt he is in any financial trouble. No reason for him to show up.

    Does anyone know why Soriano isn't with the Cubs because he could probably play blindfolded and hit better right now. Mostly it's about shaking off the rust and making sure he's fine in the outfield. He should be back soon! Soon like, tomorrow.
