  1. Johnnie B has just struck out Sweet Lou is on deck A bad decision looming Atop the hotdogs on Jim's neck. Can the Cubbies ever compete again? Will it ever come? Not until the Tribsters sell because they're just plain dumb
  2. I love all this speculation on who will take the job. I personally detest the idea of Piniella, and think Brenly then Girardi would be the best choice. I like the fact that Brenly has been forced to watch this team self destruct and maybe he has some ideas on what we can do to change it. I keep thinking though, the best man for the job might not want it. With Gilbert from Revenge of the Nerds as interim Pres. and Meat Loaf as GM, I'm not sure I'd want it either.
  3. Oh man. There is going to be some classic lines. He can't sit through a 2 minute press conference and make any sense. I can only imagine what he can come up with in a whole game. It will be like watching a game with a 98 year old alzheimers patient. I'm sure he'll would only work with Joe Morgan or Herold Reynolds because they would do better in the heat. Oh wait Harold is gone. Thank god Johnnie B. is too.
  4. You took the words right out of my mouth Southpaw. More classic lines by Dusty. That dead horse quote is timeless. Can you imagine what he sounds like when the mics aren't around?
  5. "It's good to get that 63rd win," Baker said. At least you didn't lose 100 Dusty. Good riddance.
  6. Another classic Dusty line. It never ceases to amaze me the stupidity that constantly flows around that toothpick. I honestly think he's delusional and needs mental help. Here's to him spending a lot of time babbling from the console of his boat far far away so we don't have to read this garbage.
  7. Good one Gilesbro. I got a good laugh out of it, and no I'm not drunk. I don't know what to think about Scott Moore. I think we better figure out something out quickly because Aramis is going to opt out and get a big contract somewhere else.
  8. The Joys of Motorcycle Riding- Chris Speier Put me in Coach- Ryan Theriot Furcal runs fast- Derrek Lee Show me the Money- Aramis Ramirez Workin' Overtime- Mark O'Neal
  9. I doubt Dusty is even capable of sarcasm, though that would have been a good one. He's just babbling again, pay no mind. I knew this was going to happen with Ram though, more junk time numbers for a fat contract. Same thing he did pretty much last year. Funny how it works that way.
  10. "Right now, we're playing spoilers," Ramirez said. Yeah you are Ram. You guys spoiled my love for Cub baseball.
  11. Does anyone have any idea what he means by anything anymore? He never makes any sense. Maybe toothpicks cause alzheimers. I'm so sick of hearing his babble I could puke. Here's to at least having a manager that can talk.
  12. Of coarse Izturis will be in the second hole. Neifi is gone, but before he left they cloned him but things went wrong and Ronnie and Cesar were created. But Muskat has a point. I did imagine that lineup and I see us losing 100 games again next year.
  13. 90 million dollar payroll? Somebody is getting ripped off. Not to mention every paying fan that has to watch this sorry excuse of a squad.
  14. She's nothing but a talking head for the Cubs organization. When she isn't writing this propaganda crap, she's mixing Hendry another Jack and Coke. I have to admit, I do read her column just for kicks. I am a glutton for punishment, I'm watching this team get swept by the Pirates.
  15. Hendry is an idiot for not just firing Busty. Busty is trying to save face, we've heard every excuse in the book. He won't be accountable for anything, he's obviously looking at his future employment somewhere else. He's burning up Zambrano for no reason. Why is Lee even back? What is the point? The fact that he has D-Lee batting after Ram Ram infuriates me. Why give him any protection? So now he can pad his numbers in junk time even more and make it harder for us to sign him. It seems to me that is all he is doing. The guy loafs until he has to get off his ass. He's done that every year. The fact that he is going to get rewarded for that makes me sick. I think they should just sit both D-Lee and Ramirez for the rest of the year.
  16. I forgot about that one. That was a classic. You are right, it is almost comical. I'm almost rooting for them to lose just so it will make Dusty and Hendry look like the clowns they are. I mean you can only call it bad breaks for so long.
  17. I am growing so tired of Dusty's excuses. It was a tough night. Its been a tough road trip. We just didn't hit. We don't have our horses. Our kids made some mistakes. We didn't play good defense. How about opening your eyes and seeing the Cubs are just a bad bad baseball team. We have lost games this year in every possible way I can think of. Errors, walk off hits, walk off grand slams, and now giving up 3 leads and walking in the winning run? I think if we can find a way to lose on a balk and a triple play, we will have completely ran the gamut. Wake up Dusty. Wake up and pack your stuff.
  18. I agree, Reynolds is a good analyst. I always thought he was kind of goofy and his voice got a little bit annoying after a while, but he was a good analyst. He has a lot of ties to the area I live in (Eugene OR). I have met a few of his cousins and he went to college just up the road at Oregon State. I have a friend that runs around with some unsavory 22 year old girls and they met him in the Eugene Hilton last New Years Eve and two of the girls ended up going and staying the night with him. I lost a lot of respect for him at that point because he has a wife and kids. So the sexual harassment thing doesn't surprise me a bit. Whatever did happen must have been bad to just straight get the axe after 11 years.
  19. You guys can argue about it all you want, but you all know that this team has way too much talent to be this far under .500, even with the injuries. Its not just the losing, its the way they are losing. There has been so many fundemental mishaps its not even funny. Missed signs, baserunning errors, and substitutions that are beyond anyone that knows anything about baseball. I'll agree that we don't have the pieces in place to make a pennant run and that falls right on Hendry, but we're stuck with that pear shaped loser. Put that aside, its obvious that Dusty has lost this team. Look at his performance the last 3 years, he has to go. I don't know how anyone can defend Dusty, I'm sick of hearing all these idiots on TV. He's been around so long, they all feel sorry for him. Its crap. If we all performed that horribly at our jobs, regardless of the situation, we would get canned. It happens all the time. God I hope this little hot streak doesn't keep Dusty from being able to fish the rest of the year.
  20. Could Busty finally be ousted? Its looking more and more like he's on his way out. I'll believe it when I see it, but just the thought of it gets me more excited than I have been about this team since opening day. Here's Johnny B doing a whole lot of fishing! Here's to Gene "re" Clines as he watches the rest of the Cubs seasons from the comforts of his living room! Here's to Larry Rothschild blowing out both rotator cuffs while mowing his yard. Let's also hear some "Taps" for Sarge as he receives his honorable discharge! Hendry better make a good hire. I like the idea of Shines from the White Sox. He sounds like a great baseball mind, and I bet he can evaluate talent much better than Jim "Clay" Hendry.
  21. Continue doing it. After today's debacle (and every other day for that matter) we all need something to look forward to.
  22. I've been hearing about the Busty-o-Meter. Can someone tell me where I can find it? I need a good laugh today.
  23. Thanks for the welcome guys. It took a while to find this board, but its always good to see other people are as frustrated as I am. I totally agree wtih Abe. Who cares about Cline as a player, look at his track record as a coach. This team has not hit the last two years. They swing at first pitches all the time, strike out way too much, and for the most part can't bunt for crap. That falls on him as hitting coatch. He has made no progress with these players. How does that guy still have a job? If I did that poorly of a job, I wouldn't be employed. Why is he so special? And I'm so sick of all these excuses about injuries and bad breaks. Dusty has to be so sick of repeating himself. He sounds like a broken record. He has obviously lost his effectiveness. He should just walk out. With that much payroll, you should be able to lose half the team and still play .500 ball. This is absolutely disgusting. What is it going to take?
  24. I had no doubts that CP would become a stud. Our coaching staff is so horrific, that I'm nervous everytime we sign a good veteran. I have no doubts that we could turn Ichiro into a .250 hitter. How Clines still has a job is beyond me. He must have caught Dusty cheating on his wife or something. Our team as a whole has the worst patience at the plate in the league. Its been that way for some time now. If all the fans can see it, how can someone who really knows the game not see it? What is it going to take? We've found every way to lose that I can think of. You can almost count on this team finding a way to lose. Pierzinski's blast on Saturday was so inevitable, I would have bet my life on it. It was too perfect. 2 outs in the 9th, up by one. One more out is all we need. When we put two on and AJ stepped up, I knew what was going to happen. The worst possible scenerio. Not him. Anybody but him. This team is so horrible. You have to start by getting rid of the coaches. Now.
