  1. Is anybody watching the Texas-Oklahoma State game? It certainly doesn't feel like 2 dramatically different teams.
  2. Well, it looks like 1 of the 1 loss teams has just gone down. They are definitely starting to thin out a little bit.
  3. LSU is trying to let this game slip away. 4 turnovers for them now, and that time it cost them.
  4. I hope not. Brady is piling up great numbers against turds like UNC. That shouldn't count for much. Who has Troy put his numbers up against? Edit: That was a little rash, I'm just saying that Brady has had 1 terrible game and all the rest good to great, and Troy has had 2 bad games and all the rest good to great. If Troy has 1 more bad game and Brady doesn't, then I think those 3 bad games are worth more than 1 terrible game.
  5. Does anybody think that Brady Quinn could possibly catch Troy Smith in the Heisman race now if Troy has a bad day against Michigan and Brady has a good day against USC? After today, Brady has about 500 more yards passing, 3 more TDs passing, 1 more TD running Smith leads him with 1 less INT, about 170 more yards rushing (although that is hurt bigtime by how many sacks Quinn takes, which in college is counted in rushing yards) and a little better completion percentage. So what do you think?
  6. Ok-shifting to the LSU-UT game-Russell has played another subpar game in a big game for LSU as normal-2 TDs, but 3 INTs now-and that one was huge.
  7. If that Illinois player hadn't over-run that, he would have recovered that onside kick-now they might have 15-20 seconds at most.
  8. This is a big win for UK, 1st time in many years against UGA. If they can beat Vandy next week, UK will be in the Music or Indy Bowl. Vandy and UK are pretty close as far as talent and coaching, but they also have UL-Monroe and UT (loss). Congrats to UK. Georgia has now dropped both games against the bottom of the SEC. I'm standing by my statement that Tech will be stunned in Athens by a crap Georgia team. It's certainly possible. Georgia's defense is still pretty good at forcing turnovers, and Reggie Ball is turnover prone-so if Georgia could get some short field or defensive TD's, they could win that game.
  9. The Illinois defense has done a good job to not make it a regular Ohio State blowout. Troy Smith with only 110 yards in the air today-he'll still be in the lead for the Heisman after today, but you have to think that his lead will be a little bit smaller.
  10. That is completely ridicilous. Louisville has beat up on the likes of Temple, Kansas St, Middle Tenn, Cincinnati, and Syracuse. The only half-way decent teams they've beaten are the vastly over-rated Miami and West Virginia. They would get pounded by any number of teams below them including Texas Tennesse ND Auburn USC The Big East is a joke of a Football Conference. When they play in the title game, if they beat the might Rutgers team, they are going to get crushed. How do you know West Virginia is overrated? The way Michigan has played recently, they don't deserve the #2 ranking. Unless something big changes and changes quickly they are going to get hammered by Ohio State. Maybe, but their schedule includes not-that-difficult road wins over Notre Dame and Penn State, as well as handing Wisconsin their only loss. Meanwhile, Louisville has only played two games that could be considered tough, both of them at home, and they won both. If you're going to tell me that Louisville belongs at #2, then I need evidence that they've earned that ranking. Looking at their schedule, I just can't say they have. Michigan may be playing poorly right now, but they've shown more than Louisville has this year. That's how I feel as well. Michigan might not be playing well, but their entire season and who they've beat is still better than Louisville. It's not like Louisville hasn't had a close call or two this season anyway as well-it's just that Michigan has had them lately while Louisville has had them earlier. I think the poll should be who has had the best season, not necessarily which teams are playing the best currently.
  11. Does it really matter? He's stated he's going to play both sports. IMO, the only way he doesn't is if some team drafts him and sweatens the pot so he doesn't play baseball. I think in that type of scenario he'd have to drop baseball eventually. Maybe he'd be able to be in the minors for a year or two, but his resolve would give out when he's making lots of money in the NFL before he ever got to the majors in MLB.
  12. The ND offense and the ND defense is jaw-dropping-I just wish one wasn't that way in a good way, and the other way in a bad way. You truly never know what you're going to get from minute to minute-it's just a huge roller coaster the entire season.
  13. BTW, for those who wanted Samardzija's draft status to be hurt, it doesn't really look like that's going to be the case this year, especially now with his 177 and a TD so far today. The only thing that will really hurt him now is his interest in baseball-let's just hope that's enough to knock him down a ways.
  14. I know for sure it hit the Tennessee guy, but I know why they called it that way. When they went to slow motion, it was clear that it touched him-but anytime it went full speed, it was impossible to tell.
  15. Yup..Georgia against the bottom of the SEC this year 5 point win against Miss 3 point win against Miss State Lost to Vandy Lost to Kentucky Ouch.
  16. I've watched Carolina's QB (Dailey) in several games this year, and this is the absolute best I have ever seen him play. He was scrambling, finding receivers, and led them right down the field. That was a great TD drive for UNC.
  17. Uh, I'm not sure about the Indiana playing better than Michigan-I mean, they are losing 63-26 today to a team who didn't have a single win in the Big 10 this year.
  18. Well, Indiana wants to try to at least have a second half. They come out after halftime, and the Lewis-Hardy connection works again for 48 yards and a TD. It's 35-13 now with the extra point to come. Hardy is a beast, I sure hope he doesn't go to the NFL-a 6 foot 7 receiver who runs pretty good routes and has prettty good hands is scary. Edit: Of course the extra point is blocked-35-13 still.
  19. Well, he did play earlier, didn't he? Gamecast had him at 12 carries last time I checked.
  20. Hmm..Indiana finally gets on the board. A 37 yard pass, next play is a 43 yard TD pass. 35-7 now. I'm not sure if they can even get up to 35, but I bet there will be at least 4-5 more TD's combined from these teams before the end of the day.
  21. Why do you go for 2 in the firt score of a game!?!? I'm not sure if Florida's was some sort of botched kick or if they actually lined up for 2, but I guess Vanderbilt after Florida got it decided they wanted to try to tie the game-of course, it didn't work for them.
  22. I guess Florida and Vanderbilt have decided to abandon the kicking game-it's 8-6 Florida after 1 teams 2 point conversion try was good, and the other one's failed. Florida's TD was set up after they blocked the first punt of the game.
  23. To say that Indiana is getting destroyed is probably the understatement of the year. It's 35-0 Minnesota now.
  24. Tough to win in the dome, but they can do it. Gophers favored by 6. But Minnesota is 0-5 in conference and haven't done much offensively most of the year and got beat by North Dakota St. at home. If IU can beat Minnesota and Purdue on the road, they have a good shot to tie Penn St. at 4th in the Big Ten, which would put them in the running for the Alamo Bowl, which would be a great accomplishment. Actually, it can be better than that. I heard that since it is likely that the Big 10 will send 2 teams to BCS Bowls, then that leaves Wisconsin for the Capital One Bowl, and if IU can win 2 games, they could be fighting with Penn State for the Outback Bowl. Wow. It probably will be more likely that they go to one of the next 3 bowls though (the Alamo, Champs Sports, Insight).
  25. Oh wow, thanks for reminding me of one of Cuban's funniest gags..I could just see Dusty managing a Dairy Queen like Cuban did :D
