  1. Thanks for all the work Fred, it adds tremendously to the "enjoyment" of Cubs baseball.
  2. This all just goes to show how shifty and unpredictable relievers are. You could have made a very good case the Cubs had the best bullpen in the league prior to the start of the season. Relievers should not be signed to multi-year contracts. That comment should be branded on the forehead of our GM.
  3. If it's any consolation, the largely submerged and abandoned city of New Orleans is getting the Cubs.
  4. Well Fox isn't since the Yankees are on.....I really hate the Yankees. It could be worse. FOX could have brought Hawk in to do pbp with Jeannie the Ignorant doing color.
  5. His spinal chord is actually detached. Does that mean he can't sing?
  6. Happy Mother's Day, moms!! Let's go Cubs. Mets 3, Brewers 0 after 1.
  7. Cubs lead and only need one or two more to put the hitless wonders away.
  8. Interesting Cardinal stat: Pitchers, so far this year 6 for 25 for a .240 average. Everyone else: 112 for 486, for a .230 average Pitchers also have a better AB/HR ratio: (25 to 1) vs (60 to 1) Updated through the 3rd inning of today's game.
  9. But the Card pitchers are their best hitters, so not a big deal.
  10. He makes me bust out laughing. Secretary came in to check on me.
  11. throw was on homeplate side of first and wide. Pujols came off the bag and tried the swipe tag, but DeRosa deeked into foul territory and Pufols missed iwth the swipe. however, DeRosa couldn't get back to the bag. obviously a bunch of Cards started yelling about it and Pujols went to tag and DeRosa made a move to second and got tagged out. The ump clearly signalled DeRosa safe and I don't think that was a move to second. Ump missed the call.
  12. Except for his 72 walks. The way he's going he might walk under 50. I think his ERA might be a lot lower than projected as well. Anyone remember his predictions for Hill? Here are the community projections: G 33 GS 33 IP 198 H 178 W 15 L 11 BB 51 SO 187 ERA 3.11 WHIP 1.157
  13. and didn't he look good being picked off first base last night....seriously, he is doing much better than I thought he would.
  14. Ugh, DeRosa and Barrett drop the Cubs win expectancy to .102
  15. Sorry if this is a repost, but FYI a link to live win probability box scores: http://www.fangraphs.com/livescoreboard.aspx
  16. FOX is showing the Mets-Braves game nationally (with some regional games) so there is a blackout across the boards until 6 PM central. Same rules as last year. D Lee looked vedry good that AB; kept his weight back, eyes on the ball to the bat, good swing, etc. This form, if he keeps it up, will lead to a great season.
