    I guess the Reds just figure they have enough offense without Kearns and Lopez and really needed to try and improve their bullpen and defense to make a push for the playoffs with the NL being so weak.

    Hey I'm pretty new to this site so sorry if there is already a topic about this and I wasn't exactly sure where to put this. I was wondering if anyone here plays OOTP and if you do is anyone planning on starting a Sim League with OOTP 2006? I really want to join a league so if anyone knows of anything please let me know.

    Prior's biggest concern right now is not his velocity. It will come back with time. He needs to worry about his mechanics and staying healthy and his control.

    We can't just ride off Ryu after one start. Yes he was horrible today, but even great pitchers have horrible major league debuts. Guzman is still trying to regain form from before his injury and I still think he has a bright future ahead of him maybe as a 3rd starter behind Prior (if he ever gets/stays healthy) and Zambrano. As for Hill if he could ever get any control he could be a decent starter but I don't see that happening and I think Hendry should try to trade Hill now because he might still have some value left plus lefty pitchers always draw a little more interest.

    I'm interested in watching it, we need Wood to start playing better. Either we're gonna have to keep him if he has no trade value so he might as well be good for us or if we want him to have any trade value at all he is going to have to prove he can stay healthy and pitch good.

    Exactly why he shouldn't have done it with Jones, our hottest hitter, due up next. That ball was smoked and got to Francouer way to fast especially with his arm for Barrett to score. Plus it took us out of the inning with Jones up who has been our hottest hitter this month.

    Well at least Dusty is proud of the team...."I'm proud of my team and how they battled back," Baker said. It would be nice for him to criticize the team once instead of always making excuses for them.

    Who else you gonna run out there until the injured guys get back? Nobody else has done anything to warrant getting the spot. neither has rusch. I'd give Ryu another start. Hell, I'd give him 4 or 5 more starts. But it seems as the Cubs and many of the people on this board wouldn't. Well until Prior is ready I'd like to see Ryu continue to get starts or another prospect, we might as well give a guy a chance to prove himself and not just judge him after one outing especially with the wind blowing out But do you do that, he continues to struggle, and loses all confidence? Just being the devil's advocate. If he can go out there with composure and keep the ball down he may be all right. But you also have to question how his confidence will be if he has one bad start and then just gets shipped off back to the minors...giving him another start could help build his confidence back up

    I don't think it mattered if he was tipping his pitched...he was just throwing everything belt high right down the middle...anyone is going to hit that hard.
