  1. I'll definitely be happy for Sammy when he hits #600. I just hope the homer doesn't lead to a Cubs loss.
  2. Lee: "Who have you been texting?" Young: "IDK, my BFF Jill?" Inspired by Roast's sig.
  3. If this is true, this bothers me. A starting pitcher has four freaking days between starts to view tape of his upcoming opponent. Why the hell should that fall on the catcher? I'm not saying the catcher shouldn't be looking at video, but this should be a primary responsibility of a starting pitcher.
  4. Have at it. But if you put it on a t-shirt and it sells, I want 50%.
  5. I thought Dan Uggla was Chase Utley-lite.
  6. It's a wonder the Cubs haven't developed dozens of fantastic prospects using this method. We have a good, young LF - let's acquire 2 LFs in the off season! Can never have too many LFs. Well, it's a good thing they're not trying to turn EPatt into a left fielder. Oh, wait...they are.
  7. The more I read this, I less I like it. Why is batting average even included? Wins?!?! How about instead of just runs produced, they factor in how many opportunities the hitter had to drive someone in? Edited to add: 1300 posts! 1301, here I come.
  8. I don't think I like the amount of importance they are putting on certain things.
  9. 2nd rate among first baseman. Ranking anywhere from 20-9 among qualified 1B in OPS. 200 OPS points off the leaders. That is 2nd rate. You're far too generous if you think that's an elite 1B. Defense matters to bud! defense at 1b doesn't matter that much. bud. Ha ok how so? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defensive_spectrum
  10. The "boom goes the dynamite" guy could probably do a better job.
  11. Way to boost that trade value, Jacque.
  12. Lou had a fight with Rob Dibble when he was with the Reds. if i recall correctly, wasn't dibble the one that whipped the ball at a baserunner? Yep. Threw it at Doug Dascenzo.
  13. Some producer in Bristol is putting together a montage as we speak. They'll probably include the Dibble/Piniella fight in there.
  14. FWIW, the Blue Jays' winning percentage jumped .040 after the Lilly-Gibbons brawl. Are you saying that Lou should take a punch from Lilly? Couldn't hurt I guess. Just make sure Lilly doesn't use his left hand to throw the punch.
  15. After 45 minutes of highlights, player interviews, commentary from the Baseball Tonight guys, etc...all related to the Yankees-Red Sox series.
  16. I don't understand how you can think very many people on here wanted Hendry around for this season. A lot of people wanted both gone, not just Baker. You must not have been around a lot last year. Trust me, there were many on here who said they'd give Hendry another year and then fire him. From my recollection (keep in mind I've drank and slept since then), the majority of those that voiced an opinion on Hendry were not exactly supportive of him.
  17. They're kind of dancing around it a bit. This is Hughes' inning off, so we'll see if he says anything when he's back in the booth.
  18. I don't understand how you can think very many people on here wanted Hendry around for this season. A lot of people wanted both gone, not just Baker.
  19. Somehow, I don't think this is how Carlos pictured his birthday.
  20. Soto's also on the 40-man roster, I believe. I don't think Hill is. Odd move.
  21. Don't forget that Floyd's option becomes guaranteed with 100 games started or 425 plate appearances this season.
  22. he really should, but he probably never will because the media doesn't really like him. Exactly. It's too bad, because the man was about as dominant as it gets.
  23. Pedro should have legendary status.
  24. Ichiro will be legendary because he's the first position player from Japan to have prolonged success. That and a couple of years of very high batting average, which some people still go gaga for. His stats aren't legendary, but I don't think that's what ESPN was shooting for here.
