  1. If I've posted to many quotes from the chat, a mod can edit it.
  2. Uhh report on Pawly - Didn't touch the 96 MPH he touched last season - Sat 88-92 touching 93, 94 - Potential for three plus pitches, but command is inconsistent on all three. - Command is a work in progress - Noisy delivery
  3. post some questions to ask. Ill submit them on different names. I wonder if they do it by IP... I've submitted. Snider/Colvin Samardzija Colvin power Other Hawks / Samardzija
  4. A small quote from their report on Colvin. Emphasize the last sentence. It's amazing what a 5 day hot streak in August can do for your projection...
  5. ooh, the schedule also made a couple other choices easier. The Giants are playing the Mets the two weekdays I had the Mets playing the Cubs. So those were wrong. Now May 8-10 is going to be a Pirates series. All other teams are taken. Don't know where it is yet though. I moved the Mets to the August 3-5 slot and gave the Marlins the June 26-28 slot. I couldn't move the Mets or Padres to the slot vacated by the Giants because both teams' schedules are already known. The Mets were unknown, so that makes it likely. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f189/kctigers23/cubsschedule3.jpg
  6. ummm off the top of my head Matt Sulentic, Shane Lindsay and Mark Pawelek could be 1-2-3. Emmanuel Burris, Chad Tracy and Tyler Colvin could be in the running for top five. Brooks Brown and Aaron Breit could be there. There is probably a couple latin american products that I don't know about. I see Colvin in the 5-10 range. Pawelek should be top 3. Dunno who else from the Cubs could make it. Maybe Sammy Baez.
  7. Well I can assure you I'd rather have best in a league than someone not be best in the league like Colvin.
  8. http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/minors/features/262512.html Hill in AAA Fox in A Colvin in SS Here's to hoping Wilken and Colvin do more than just rhyme. No surprises that the Hill and Fox made it. Gallagher and Veal would have made it, but damn High A was stacked most of the season.
  9. Actually the Atlanta one makes sense. If you run through the possible series for the entire season, you'll notice that we get 9 games for Atlanta and there is NO room for a fifth interleague series. We're only getting Seattle, Texas and the two White Sox for 12 games. Usually we play 15, but this year (as we did a few years ago) it's 12. The extra three are taken by the Braves this season. http://cincinnati.reds.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/schedule/tentative.jsp?c_id=cle&year=2007#20060923 Cleveland released theirs. We're not playing them. Yeah you can pencil in San Francisco for the week before the Arizona series because we know it can't be Colorado. We know when we're going there and it's flanked by two known series. I've actually 'penciled" in the entire season for the sake of being very very bored at 2 AM in the morning and being a bit of an insomniac. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f189/kctigers23/cubsschedule2.jpg The white non-italicized games are locks with locations unknown. The italicized are guesswork, and they're educated - I think. It gives us 34 games against the East. 81 games against the central, 35 against the west and 12 interleague. I actually want to revise something. One of the four game sets with the Pirates is probably a four game set with the Marlins (September) or Nationals (July). But oh well.
  10. She didn't respond to mine, but this is fine. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060925&content_id=1681554&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc I tried to dig up the old thread but couldn't find it. All I know is that this response was absolutely hilarious. Izturis should bat second because he's smart enough to bat second?
  11. a computer. it would be the exact opposite of dusty. going into the locker room right before a game, a player must rate how well he feels 1-10, the computer then bases it off that and the players ability.
  12. Good call, you're probably dead right on that one. Forgot about that. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f189/kctigers23/cubsschedule1.jpg There is an image of what I know. Other things: I am damn near certain that June 12-14 is going to be the Mariners series because June 12-14 and June 15-17 are interleague sets. The second set all of the teams in the ALW and ALC are taken and it looks like it's either San Diego at Wrigley or the Diamondbacks for the June 15-17. The Mariners and Indians are open for the 12-14, but that's fine. Also it looks like the 12-14 will have to a four game series because of the offdays, which would imply that it would be the DBacks because we already have 2 home games against the Pads. From the looks of it, it looks like the Cubs will only gets 12 interleague games. This happened for all central teams in 2004 http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/standings?type=vsdiv&br=3&year=2004&column=gamesBehind&order=false&st=2
  13. Eh, I take that back, the Pirates, Diamondbacks and Nats series are probably on the road.
  14. I have a grid of the known schedules. All of the National League teams for the 9-12 are taken except for the Astros. The Astros home schedule has been announced, so they have to be games at Wrigley. The 9th may be a day off, ditto for the 12th. However most teams who have their home openers the second week start on Monday. The Cubs have done that several years in a row. The slot for April 16-17 is the same. All of the teams are taken except for the Padres. They announced their home games, so they have to be games in Wrigley. The other three are like that, but I don't know if they are home and away. I am 75% sure all three are home series because if not, the cubs will have quite a few 10 game road trips.
  15. Our home opener is against the Astros. So April 9-11 is against Houston. Also, April 16-17 are home games against the Padres. July 2-5 is against Washington July 5-8 is against Pittburgh Aug 24-26 is against Arizona
  16. http://cincinnati.reds.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/schedule/tentative.jsp?c_id=ana&year=2007#20060923 We're not playing the Angels.
  17. Call me stupid, but Scott Moore is probably a better player than Eric Patterson at this time. .283/.341/.451 - Felix Pie in AAA .276/.339/.419 - Eric Patterson split between AA and AAA with most of the time in AA. Forget the fact that Patterson is two years older than Pie, Pie simply hit better at a higher level. Sure Patterson plays 2B, but it's not as if CF is the equivalent to a designated hitter. Eric Patterson did steal 46 bases, and that's gotta be the reason that he may be the better player. Forget the fact those stolen bases were worth about 3.5 runs over the season. Baseball America doesn't understand that stolen bases are generally overrated, especially when you get caught a lot. They make the same mistakes in their league top 20s, see: Derrick Robinson, Nick Van Stratten, Luis Durango and Gorkys Hernandez.
  18. Actually Reggie Abercrombie has Eric Davis tools. But it's not like he's using them.
  19. http://www.baseballamerica.com/online/minors/features/262470.html Cubs Best Player - Eric Patterson Best Pitcher - Donald Veal. Patterson > Pie?
  20. Philly is going to Ottawa and then moving the franchise to Allentown Pa in 2008. The displaced Orioles appear likely headed to Norfolk. Leaving the Mets with no other option than New Orleans.
  21. if cubs pitchers drop at the rate they did this season, he might be here within 10 months.
  22. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2597854 Didn't see this posted. Barry is only like 24 homers away from Aaron. One more?
  23. they could pick it up and try to trade him though the 10/5...
  24. The Mariners seem like they are on the way out from San Antonio. So I guess they'll either wind up in Mobile or West Tenn. According to the news around San Antonio the Diamondbacks and Padres are fighting for the Missions in an effort to move closer to the west coast. The loser will then go with the Mariners for Mobile or West Tenn. If the Diamondbacks get San Antonio, then I guess it's Padres in West Tenn and Mobile for the Mariners. If West Tenn doesn't watch out, in a couple years they could be bought out and moved back to El Paso who used to be the Double A affiliate for the Diamondbacks in the Texas League. The Cardinals bought them and moved them to Springfield a couple years ago. Now the Diablos are a Independent League team, but I would not be shocked if one of the three west coast teams who are affiliate-less would want to expand to El Paso. I could also see a Double A team pop up in eastern La. as well in the next few years, say Shreveport or Lake Charles. I also wouldn't be shocked if the Astros decided to move their Double A team to near Houston to like Galveston (kind of like Frisco and the Rangers).
  25. Pettitte has hinted at retirement, and I think it is a forgone conclusion he stays in Houston or winds up back in New York. I really don't see him going anywhere else. He can either have the money (Yankees) or his family (Astros). No other team has anything to offer him.
