  1. ive decided to shadow the draft because im bored. i have chosen Jason Heyward with my pick
  2. one year the draft was 10 min late because a team wasnt on the conference call on time.
  3. i think we should have one thread for each pick done today. Come on we have a whole stinking board. No need to have several conversations on different topics in the same thread.
  4. hes only playing short because Matt Dominguez is his teammate.
  5. If you believe most of the rumors, disheartening and painful. well thats just the cubs draft, not the actual telecast.
  6. No chance in hell the Yankees would pass on another Seton Hall Prep guy.
  7. exactly. i have be at work at 7 AM CST tomorrow and get off at noon for the draft, but if I check at 6:30 AM and find out, what's so great when I can just find out for real in a couple of hours.
  8. http://www.kansascity.com/sports/story/139653.html Kansas City has narrowed it down to four guys: Jarrod Parker, Mike Moustakas, Devin Mesoraco and Josh Vitters.
  9. and last year there were two taken in the first round. the year before the one you mentioned there were four taken in the first round. it obviously depends on the year but in general most of the top bats dont go to college. In general most of the top arms do not, but there are always a lot of projectable arms that do go to college and evolve into elite guys, like Price. this year there will probably be 3 or 4 of them.
  10. good point... have the Cubs spent many high draft picks on college hitters though? I think a lot more have been on high school bats. how many teams do? most early college picks are always pitchers. the good bat talents sign as high schoolers.
  11. if it ever came to this, i think wood would be a good guy to keep around the clubhouse as some sort of a coach.
  12. the cubs dont have a track record of developing college hitters either
  13. how do I de-notify me when a reply is posted? i must have accidentally hit something
  14. Supposedly the last callis mock is supposed to go up "this evening" but its 11 EST and no such thing.
  15. Cubs can do much better than Beau Mills, Josh Vitters, Jarrod Parker or Dudley Doolittle at 3, but unfortunately they won't. :x they really cant do much better than parker or vitt at 3 Wieters.............. hes not "much" better
  16. Cubs can do much better than Beau Mills, Josh Vitters, Jarrod Parker or Dudley Doolittle at 3, but unfortunately they won't. :x they really cant do much better than parker or vitt at 3
  17. lol! the street by my house! the local homeless guy sipping vodkas. seriously mayo mentioned it among others.
  18. Vitters doesn't have the defensive tools that Wright has. He doesn't have the speed to swipe 20 bases. Batting-wise it's not a bad comparison.
