The other players cited were Baltimore teammates Brian Roberts and Jay Gibbons. Gibbons already went down, and maybe Tejada will be on the Mitchell report. steroids arent needed.

    Unfortunately, that's irrelevant. Roberts is inevitable. this is true, but i am optimistically thinking some how a wrench will get thrown into the wheels of hendry's mind

    I have read unconfirmed speculation that it is Bedard. Roberts and Bedard packaged, though that would likely cost us Hill, Pie, and more. "unconfirmed speculation" in other words, an uneducated guess. anyways trading hill in a package for roberts and bedard would be monumentally stupid.

    1. Texas isn't going to trade him. 2. Khalil Greene's better. 3. Khalil Greene's perceived value by both his club, and other major league teams is lower than Young's. 4. Khalil Greene's cost in prospects is cheaper. 5. Khalil Greene's cost in dollars is cheaper. 6. Khalil Greene's age is on the left side of 30. I think I ended this debate before it started, sorry Hosak.

    woah, lets not get ahead of ourselves. That's not too far fetched. If the Cubs managed to get Roberts and trade for a decent SS (Khalil Greene, maybe?), I think they would be the best team in the NL. Of course, those things would have to happen, but only one of them would make the Cubs the best team in the Central. Of course, that's not saying much. Brandon Roberts is meaningless. The Cubs would improve of course, but not enough to justify trading anyone, even felix pie. Yes, I just advocated NOT trading Pie. Who is this Brandon Roberts of whom you speak? But seriously, while Roberts is only a marginal upgrade from DeRosa, he does bring a little bit more to the table , IMO. It wouldn't hurt my feelings in the least if Hendry forgets about Brain Roberts, but I foresee Jimbo going out and getting him, so I am trying to accept it. Clearly the biggest problem is SS. If I were Hendry, I would offer Prior arbitration, then package him with Murton and others for Khalil Greene. I think Greene would be a fantastic upgrade. *Sigh* Brian. I've typed out Brandon Roberts 1,000 times the last week or so since the rumors started, I've caught it every time but this one. Brandon Roberts is a guy I played ball with in school.
