  1. Hester is out today. Here are the rest of the inactives: -Steltz -Buenning -Chris Williams -Bennett -Toeaina -Adams
  2. That's awesome. Homer the Smithers isn't referenced enough.
  3. There might be something that your fan club doesn't agree with you on, after all! ;) I am personally a fan of Chip for the most part. Perhaps it's the association to Sosa, but I always enjoy's Chip's HR call. Len, have you spent much with pitchf/x data? Any thoughts on the system and what it can offer a broadcast while it is in its infancy stage?
  4. treyZz won't be replying the rest of the night, so let's just drop that part of this thread.
  5. My only complaint is that it's been too long since the debut of this look: http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u310/nucubs/lenandbobbw.jpg
  6. The times on StubHub are merely default values. They had to put something in there.
  7. McGowan is done for the season with ankle surgery. That means Danieal Manning will get time at nickel.
  8. I have a ticket to Friday's game which will be worthless in terms of a clinching celebration. To make matters worse, I had two tickets to Thursday afternoon's game that I sold a couple of weeks back after deciding to stick with the Friday game. Oh, and I'll miss the last half of the Thursday game because of a client phone presentation.
  9. Hard to find, but here it is: http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/schedule/index.jsp?c_id=chc&y=2009&m=4 It's certainly strange that the Cubs host the White Sox at Wrigley on a Tuesday through Thursday followed by a weekend Wrigley series against the Indians. The series at the Cell is the following weekend. The Cardinals only come to Wrigley twice, 4 in April and 3 in July. Same with the Brewers. That's messed up. The other big thing is that the schedule doesn't start until April 6 and doesn't end until October 4.
  10. I'd just like to preemptively state that "integrity of the game" is one of my least favorite phrases in baseball and is only justification for managers whose teams are not in a race to make unproductive or potentially harmful decisions. The Cubs will finish off their race soon and I can only hope that Piniella decides not to give a darn about the WC and NL East races. As an employee of the Cubs, his job is to do what is best for the organization, not what is best for the Phillies, Mets, Brewers, or Astros.
  11. They can't clinch on Friday, but there are some pairs available to the Friday afternoon game on cubs.com right now. It just requires some refreshing.
  12. Hester was supposed to have an MRI, but internal bleeding (yes, from a non-contact injury) will push that back a day or two.
  13. Haven't had much time to read up on it, but am I correct in thinking that the Cubs cannot clinch with a win on Friday (though possibly later that night?) I'm really busy at work and will likely need to ditch my ticket for Friday's game.
  14. Sabathia couldn't do that.
  15. Big time Providence OT Patrick Ward (6'7'', 295, ACT of 35) just announced his verbal to Northwestern after his final list was down to NU, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Stanford. And that's without Northwestern having an aerospace engineering program. This is a good weekend for Northwestern football.
  16. Has there ever been a non-superstation WGN game? The rain has left Chicago, so the White Sox game will not be rained out.
  17. f-that. we werent supposed to win this week, but we should have who's next week? Unless this team is taking the division, this is a really tough loss.
  18. 12 penalties, 86 yards. 2 bad fumbles by Olsen. Inexcusable and an easy win without those two things. Heck, without one of them.
  19. Pathetic, pathetic playcalling. Pathetic.
  20. Oh, and I believe the Bears got screwed out of the 2 minute warning. That play ended with 2:01 left.
  21. What horrible play calling. Just run the freaking ball for the first down before the 2 minute warning. Is that so hard?
  22. Why not run on 2nd down? At least they can do it here.
  23. Nice job by Vasher. Good FP here. And no flag!
  24. Plenty of time left.
  25. This defensive line is beyond dead.
