  1. Are they paying any attention at all? A two-handed knock down at his head with arms out, no call.
  2. My goodness what an awful call...
  3. Pretty second goal.
  4. Is that seriously a penalty now?
  5. This is old school Hester. A stupid fair catch inside the 5 followed by a great return.
  6. It's not a neutral site. It's a selling of a home game to earn some extra money that I'm sure their athletic department really needs. FedEx Field is going to be mostly Penn State fans and the IU AD is fully aware of that. Northwestern sold a home game to Ohio State about 20 years ago that was played in Cleveland. NU wore home uniforms, but that was it. It's not just a forfeit of the game, but a forfeit of any strength the program currently has. IU might as well send a white flag up the pole and tell all their fans and potential recruits that they're not going to take things seriously for a few more years.
  7. The offer was never coming. Though I like the way Hampton talks about ND. When I was in college, I narrowed my 2 career choices down to lawyer and President of the United States. After much deliberation, I chose lawyer. I'm sure the USA is disappointed, but this was the best career move for me. As of a couple of weeks ago, Hampton was talked about as likely Notre Dame's third choice, at worst fourth, for two openings at DT. If you assume that Notre Dame is going to land their top two remaining choices, then no, Notre Dame wasn't going to offer Hampton. But that's probably not the safest assumption. Hampton didn't want to wait for those top two choices to decide and see where that left Notre Dame. ND dropped Hampton off the list. He wasn't getting an offer. Off the list? I haven't seen anything to suggest that Notre Dame was going to stop recruiting him. It does look like there are four DT offers out now, though, so he'd at best be 5th. But that doesn't mean Notre Dame didn't want him anymore. I feel sorry for Indiana fans: $3 million for giving up a home game to a stadium full of Penn State fans in Maryland. This is not a good thing for that program.

  9. Thank you for deciding not to offer Will Hampton in a timely manner, Notre Dame.
  10. You gets get banished to U for the Challenge? @ NC State on ESPNU, yeah.
  11. One stinkin' game on ESPN/2 this year for NU, and that's a February home game against Iowa. Thanks a lot, ESPN. Not quite the bad news as Rowley fracturing his foot, though...
  12. It didn't show up on my guide, but the match is indeed on ESPN2HD.
  13. I noticed that they've replayed the FSC broadcasts of one or two Red Stars matches on CSNC, so I was wondering if they'd expand on that.
  14. I'm not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but tomorrow's Bears game will be broadcast in HD on NFL Network. The ChicagoBears.com schedule only has the local fox affiliate for some reason.
  15. Wow, you can't make that stuff up. I'm curious about the communication between Donovan and Bradley as far as his stamina. To me, he clearly looked gassed, especially on the go ahead goal. He did, but he didn't really stand out from his teammates in that regard.
  16. The give-aways and clearance "attempts" were five times worse than the officiating, which really says something.
  17. Wow. Hopefully Altidore is ready on the 15th. Also from the link:
  18. I'm not sure how Michigan State ended up being one of Northwestern's biggest recruiting competitors this year, but if Tony Jones ends up picking NU today as it is rumored to be reported in the Flint Journal, we'll be doing pretty well against the Spartans. Paul Jorgenson, a life-long Spartan fan, was a big get, though Mike Sadler and Travis Jackson picked green. Not sure we were ever near the top of Sadler's list.
  19. He would have gotten in if he had a holocaust cloak.
  20. Tillman is expected to miss most of the preseason after undergoing back surgery.
  21. Northwestern? If so, see you there. On a personal note, I'm so glad the CSU/CU game is on a Sunday this year... Colorado State & Northwestern are my 2 teams, and I hate when they play at the same time (rarely happens b/c of time zones) thus me missing one of them live. Jon, if you do get NU season tickets, were you at the Smashing Pumpkins event before the Illinois game? Yeah, NU. I was not at the event, but I saw pictures of it.
  22. I did pretty well. 2 tickets to the Rams game (internet), 4 to the Browns (automated line), and 2 to the Lions (automated line).
  23. Front row season tickets have arrived. Now all I have to do is wait another 42.5 days.
  24. Oh, Mexico. You get a huge gift on a stupid handball and yet you can't convert.
