  1. Boy did Hudson's command go south in a hurry once he got that 0-2 count to Lee.
  2. Especially the inside corner. He's getting the low call but really getting squeezed near the belt.
  3. Anyone get a headcount on the fans at the GABP tonight?
  4. Some notes from the Gary Hughes interview on the WGN Radio Cubs pregame show: -Raved briefly about Marshall and Rich Hill as the top lefties to watch. He only briefly mentioned Marshall being placed on the DL but didn't seem terribly concerned about it. Thought that it was important for Hill to get a taste of the majors and thinks he'll be up to stay very soon. He didn't say whether that would be in the bullpen or not. -Said Nolasco has four pitches that he commands really well. They've pushed him too far every year but he adjusts. Thinks he's a guy who could be ready "really soon." -Just saw the Daytona team and thinks Dope is having much better ABs right now. -Noted Moore's and Collins' power. -Talked about Pie's injury but didn't give any updates on how he's doing or if they would have called him up.
  5. Thanks, Nathan! It's a great read and very informative.
  6. He's a veratile bench player now that Greenberg's head is broke. Greenberg should be ready soon. He already started taking BP.
  7. Dubois and Gerut have nothing to do with Choi, Hill, Cabrera, or anyone else. There's no need to reopen the same argument every time a prospect gets traded. No point. Stay on topic, please. And cut out the personal attacks.
  8. I gotta agree. Rotoworld said Gerut would likely take Grieve's job...first of all, Grieve is doing fine and has a great OBP...secondly, that would still give us 2 LH LF'ers which wouldn't make sense, and Murton is doing fine so there's no point in sending him back down. And third and most importantly if Rotoworld is right, Grieve doesn't really do anything with the big league team.
  9. Gerut's defensive stats: CAREER BY POS GP GS INN TC PO A E DP FPCT RF ZR PB SB CS CS% CERA Total as LF 55 51 472.2 110 104 3 3 0 .973 2.04 .839 -- -- -- -- -- Total as CF 26 23 211.2 55 54 1 0 0 1.000 2.35 .911 -- -- -- -- -- Total as RF 202 190 1728.0 419 401 13 5 4 .988 2.16 .859 -- -- -- -- --
  10. I agree, but that still doesn't explain "why." Well, hopefully Jason can finally get some playing time...
  11. Just found out my older brother visited friends in Iowa yesterday and they went to the I-Cubs game on a whim. Good move.
  12. And that is all for Carlos. What a game. 7 IP, 2 hits, 0 runs, 1 walk, 12 strikeouts Harvey's 2-run HR in the 6th was part of a 4-run inning for Peoria to blow the game wide open. The I-Cubs look like they're going to be shutout. Corey is 0-2 with a flyout to right, a strikeout, and two walks. Raul Valdez gave up 4 runs, 3 earned, in 5.1 IP on 10 hits, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts. It's appears obvious that the Cubs have given up on the idea of using him out of the bullpen this season (or at least not before September). Jaxx win 7-0.
  13. Marmol has a 2-hit shutout going through 7. He has walked just 1 and struck out 12. He actually had 12 strikeouts through 6.
  14. That's correct, but only in a few games. He's sitting tonight. Hairston! Bluehart- If Murton wasn't at 3 hits, I'd be neutral on a bunt there. But I wanted to see Matt get his 4th hit.
  15. Shows bunt on the pickoff. Dusty better not think about it...
  16. The Diamond Jaxx are having a pretty good night, as well. Marmol with 4 innings without allowing a hit while walking 1 and striking out 8. Hoffpauir and Craig have each hit a HR and Theriot has 3 RBIs with a pair of doubles.
  17. You mean Barrett? Yeah, that's it. He's just seeing the ball so well right now and really has his 2-strike down.
  18. does that mean activated to the big leagues in five to six day ect or the minor leagues? Majors, but I suspect he'll spend closer to 10 days in Iowa at a minimum.
  19. Bo, who seemingly hasn't hit for any power since the first few weeks of the season, is 2-2 with a pair of HRs and 5 RBIs.
  20. Gallagher had a rough first. HBP, double, single, sac fly, and a throwing error on a pickoff attempt before striking out the next two batters. Chiefs down 2-0 early.
