  1. Well, Izzy will probably try to get Burnitz out with breaking balls low and in. He'll have to lay off of them.
  2. TRIPLE!!!!!!! HAHA. He did a Pete Rose belly-flop slide!
  3. 7 pitches and Izzy still hasn't thrown a strike.
  4. 5 pitches in that AB and none of them were that close to the strike zone.
  5. What a fantastic pitching performance by Zambrano. Let's hope his offense can wake up and give him the win.
  6. You're supposed to take a walk, not look for it, David.
  7. Neifi- try swinging at that fastball right down the middle and lay off the pitches 6 inches above the dirt.
  8. A couple of nice plays by Carlos there. Not sure how he gripped that one so quickly after bobbling it.
  9. That was Cubs fan booing. Really? It was the same boo when Lee stepped into the box. And that was just a sad inning. They can't waste this game.
  10. Carpenter's not getting very many outs on his curve ball. Unfortunatley, they're just jumping at any fastball he's throwing.
  11. Haha. Why are they booing Derrek for taking two curveballs high and tight?
  12. Bah. Edmonds nearly missed the cutoff man. Come on, Walker. Right here.
  13. Regardless he still needs to start hustling and this isn't the first time it's been a problem. Yes, and it's been going on for years, but I also don't want Ramirez to be giving it 100% on the bases all the time. The guy is finally healthy but one wrong turn and he could have a reaggrevated back/groin/etc. BURNY!!!!!!! WHAT A CATCH!!!!
  14. He's not THAT slow when he hustles. That definitely should have been two. It skipped past Rodriguez and then Edmonds fell when he was getting it. Blanco would give Ramirez a run for his money. Most hitters could have gotten to second there. I don't think Aramis makes it safely, especially since Edmonds' throw was right on the bag.
  15. I don't see how Ramirez would have made it to second there. Aramis is just plain slow.
  16. Burny hasn't had the best ABs so far. That was a belt high fastball right down the middle and yet he watches it go by.
  17. A long HR in which Z could just jog home would be nice right about now.
  18. Even if Carpenter isn't getting hit hard, small ball would have been a waste. I understand the philosophy, but... we scored a run. How is that a waste?? It took away a chance of scoring more than one. If you can do that every inning, that would be great. But you don't have the heart of the order coming up all that often with a guy on base and nobody out. Walker swinging at a bad pitch on the first pitch just to move the runner over also changed Lee's approach. I want him swinging for power and not focusing on just making contact.
  19. Both guys were there to make the catch. It didn't look like Jimmy was very happy that he was called off.
  20. And that's why I hated the small ball last inning. Carpenter is getting hit hard tonight. You can't just give up outs.
