    According to Dusty, Hairston is sitting tonight because he's not swinging great right now, but he'll be back in there tomorrow.

    I'll be mad if Dusty doesn't give the regulars a day off during this upcoming heat wave. If sitting Hairston tonight is in preparation of the next week, then I think it's a good move (or if it's just a coincidence). By the way, Burnitz has 140 career starts in CF.

    Hairston better be ready to go the next week. Hopefully Dusty sits Burntiz, as well as players like Ramirez and Lee, a game between tomorrow and Monday.

    Haha, Jon's such a sleazeball. I should really not talk. The other positive of knocking over a little kid to get a baseball is that you'll make every news reports in the country and be ripped to shreds by countless numbers of people. Some people love local celebrities.

    I guess it depends on your interpretation. She's 19. A 22-year-old guy interested in a 19-year-old woman? And I thought I had heard everything. Don't mess up. And by that I mean don't knock over little kids to get a HR ball. If you knock over some teenagers to get a HR ball and give it to a little kid, though, that might get you some points.

    And I bet it will be very humid too. Thank goodness I have never been to St. Louis. Actually its not going to be much better in chicago this weekend Nope, although it shouldn't hit 100 near the lake. Time to start sucking up to my air conditioning.

    Upcoming forecast: In Cincinnati: Wednesday - 93 degrees Thursday - 89 degrees In St. Louis: Friday - 100 degrees Saturday - 97 degrees Sunday - 100 degrees In Chicago: Monday - 95 degrees Tuesday - 91 degrees Thankfully the Wednesday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday games are at night, but now might not be a bad time to have 12 pitchers.

    Ryu with a great start tonight, as well. 8 IP, 4 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, 2 strikeouts. His ERA is down to 3.34. Coats made his 26th error of the season, though (in CF tonight).

    So when is Nomar projected to return? hahaha, not soon enough. is there anyone besides Dusty that likes Neifi as the everyday SS? *crickets* anyone? *tumbleweed rolls by* I don't believe there have been any updates on his August 1st projected return date. Cubs win! It wasn't pretty. Prior struggled a bit and the offense wasted way too many scoring opportunities, but a win is a win!

    Did he say when he might be back? Nope. Corey has grounded out to first, grounded out to second, and was called out on strikes. Wellemeyer had a great start tonight. 7 IP, 3 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks, 6 strikeouts. Ryu has given up 1 run over 7 innings on 4 hits, 0 walks, and 2 strikeouts.

    Strange. There's a 2 second delay with CSNC, but I've never had it with WGN (although I'm not watching the superstation). Perhaps they want an extra delay to filter out any profanity that might come from Bob's mouth before it's heard all around the country. Nice inning by Novoa! Ugh. David Weathers...
