    1st inning: Nomar Garciaparra flies into double play, right fielder Ramon Alvarado to first baseman Don Sutton III. Luis Rivera doubled off 1st. 3rd inning: Nomar Garciaparra flies out to center fielder Andre Piper-Jordan. 6th inning: Nomar Garciaparra reaches on fielding error by third baseman Benjamin Ingold. Nomar played 7 full innings today and fielded 4 ground balls (1 of which was the 6-3 DP).

    If this wasn't finals week, I'd be down there for at least one. Hopefully the atmosphere will be great, especially for a weekday series.

    It's a shame how one bad inning can ruin your ERA for the entire year.

    Pawalek's line: 4 IP, 2 hits, 1 run, 2 walks, 6 strikeouts. Nomar went 0-3 today but didn't play the whole game. He did turn a 6-3 DP, though.

    It didn't start off as an IBB, though. And if the umpire was paying attention, it could have been a 2-2 count instead of 3-1. Once it got to 3-1, the IBB made sense.

    Mr. Dunn- About how often do you communicate with Mr. Fleita about the progress and health of your pitchers? When a pitcher is promoted/demoted to or from West Tenn., what sort of things do you discuss about that pitcher with the pitching coach at the affiliate where he is going/coming from? Also, when someone like Rich Hill, who threw about twice as many games with the Diamond Jaxx than with the I-Cubs, is promoted from AAA to the parent club, would you also talk with Larry Rothschild or would Rick Kranitz be the one to fill him in? Thanks!

    But it might happen. Rothschild said today that if they don't think Kerry will be healthy enough to start the rest of this season but that his shoulder would hold up out of the 'pen, they'd move him there. And welcome.

    So 2 IP, 4 strikeouts, 0 walks, 1 ground out, 1 pop out, and 0 balls out of the infield. I'd say that's good.

    Did you read about my e-mail to Ron in hte Minor League discussion? When a "throw down" looked to happen I told Ron I'd drive Ribbee down there to beat up Big Mo. Ron said he received a smart-alek e-mail and then read it :lol: Haha. So how much weight has Barrett lost after the past two games?
