  1. I wasn't paying much attention to when he left the field (or the game), but why do most people think he took himself out? He's thrown a lot of pitches and had to leave his last start because the pain in his toe was just too much. Then again, if he did, good for Carlos. I'm currently considering ways in which I can destroy my tickets to Sunday's game.
  2. Daytona's game tonight has been called due to rain. A double header has been scheduled for tomorrow. Game one will begin at 4:05 central
  3. And so much for gaining any ground today. Eyre gives up 4 2-out runs in the 8th.
  4. Sigh. Eyre gives up a 2-out double to Burke and then decided it would be a good idea to give Burkman something to hit after falling behind 3-0. 2-1 Astros after the RBI double...
  5. Thanks, Bo! Gotta love 5 ejections.
  6. I will require Joe Morgan highlights. Just FYI. Please win, Cubs. You know, just one.
  7. Hendry can't be held responsible for how Dusty played Cedeno. It was Dusty who blew Jim's chance to take a look at Cedeno at short. If Hendry wasn't on board with Dusty's managing decisions, he would have done something. And he certainly wouldn't have called up Cedeno a second time to let him waste away on the bench. Any number of guys could have done what Cedeno has done with the big league club, but Hendry chose Ronny knowing full well what was going to happen.
  8. My dream lineup for tomorrow: 1B - Hollandsworth 2B - Cedeno SS - Garciaparra 3B - Perez LF - Murton CF - Macias RF - Lawton C - Blanco Let the regulars get splinters on national TV.
  9. has he even thrown five innings in a start? id say hes going to struggle to get too many 2's if he hasnt. I don't believe so. He did go 4 in his last start, though, so he might get there by the end of the season. Of course, when you have 16 pitchers on your roster, you also don't need your starters to go that long.
  10. It also should be pointed out that Hendry had his chance to take a look at Cedeno at short and blew it. Ronny will get even less playing time now that Nomar is back. I don't see how Cedeno could be anything more than a backup plan (in which money would be spent on the outfield) for next year.
  11. My guess is that the Cream of Wheat statement was a coincidence (although I'd have to actually hear it), but the first statement was way out of line.
  12. First the governor of Iowa is in the booth for a Cubs' affiliate, then DJAXX:
  13. I sure hope he won't be counting on him for center next year. I'll be happy if the guy plays more than 10 weeks this season.
  14. Great strike call, Welke. By the way, Dusty said that both Wood and Williamson would likely be available to pitch today.
  15. Two pitches at knee-level and two popups...
  16. Lee got a real good pitch to hit right there.
  17. Haha. Beltran can't even steal on Maddux. Great throw by Hank.
  18. Sweet. Thanks. I didn't even see that.
  19. And yet Neifi tries to hit the ball in the air.
  20. It'll be so nice when the Cubs get back to Wrigley on Monday. You know, so I won't have to listen to this stadium music.
  21. Dusty already said no Murton this weekend. He was going to start today before the Mets switched to Seo.
  22. Did anyone try to email Deene Ehlis to ask him about Brownlie's velocity/move back to the rotation?
  23. Iowa: RHP Jon Leicester (1-5, 6.17) vs. LHP Bill Murphy (5-5, 4.55) West Tenn.: LHP Ryan O'Malley (3-1, 5.27) vs. ??? Daytona: RHP Randy Wells (6-2, 3.48) vs. ??? Peoria: RHP Matt Weber (5-8, 3.60) vs. John Bannister (5-9, 5.10) Boise: LHP Jesus Yepez (2-0, 3.62) vs. ??? Mesa: RHP Jose Pina (2-2, 3.89) vs. ??? Not sure about you folks, but I like those matchups...
  24. Lee really crushed that 1-4 pitch.
