  1. Apparently he hasn't turned it around yet: He was treated and released.
  2. And 3 minutes or 2 fishing references into it, he'll be asked to leave and never come back.
  3. Well, I wouldn't complain if the thunderstorm warning was for the San Gabriel Valley, but alas, it isn't... Great quote in your sig. Well, I do love my chick peas. Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but Wade Miller will start for the Jaxx tomorrow and Marshall will go Saturday with Iowa.
  4. First time ever that Raisin said "stupid thunderstorm warnings" in his life? I think so.
  5. Where's the option for "I hope so!"?
  6. "I can ride a bike again!" Walrond going strong so far. 6 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 6 K

  8. I'd ask about what what stats they use to evaluate their especially young players and what they use to project them, what stats they favor more than others, what can and can't be taught at the big league level, etc. I'd also ask if the Cubs can be the first trade partner for Cabrera as a payback for the Pierre trade.
  9. It's listed on their website under events.
  10. The thing I don't like about the new program is that they don't say exactly what you tested positive for (atleast not that I've found). It could be steroids, andro. amphetamines...a large number of things. While cheating is cheating, I wish they'd atleast release what these players are testing positive for exactly. Do they still keep it secret from the players?
  11. We've got a draft pick to win and need to start playing for it!
  12. Roger Goodell was just named the new commissioner.
  13. Thanks for the offer, but I doubt I'll be back to Wrigley the rest of the year. Enjoy the game, though.
  14. Sure. It's a great spot for your first game. I'd still recommend getting there when the gates open and hanging out at the wall along the infield just to be down on field level and real close to the players, but you'll be pleasantly surprised with how good those seats are. It's just too bad they jacked up the prices in those sections last year.
  15. Unless there's a big need to be on the aisle, you can't really beat row 1 up there.
  16. No, I'd go with the first row of 409. I know a lot of other people feel this way, as well, but there may not be a better spot to see all of Wrigley from than the UD boxes. You're close to the field but have a possibly the best view in the entire building.
  17. Which seats did you end up getting?
  18. Pretty much. 409 is a bit further down the line, but they are on the Cub's side. The whole upper deck would be in the shade, though, especially since it's a night game and the sun would be pretty far down behind the third base side. In the rare case that it rains, though, it's worth noting that the first 1.5 rows of the upper deck box section are not covered by the overhang. I've mostly been on the first base side when in the upper deck box sections. I'd personally probably pick 429 over 409, but not if you can still get first row seats. It's nice being in the front row of the upper deck box, regardless of the risk of rain.
  19. It's not like the Cubs need lights for home playoff games.
  20. I've pointed this out before about Guzman, but Angel hasn't been able to get into a good rhythm yet this season. He had three starts (or four if you count his dominant exhibition start against the University of Iowa) before being called up to the majors. When he got back to AAA, he had just four starts before being called up to do nothing in the bullpen. Then he had three AAA starts before leaving with cramping in a start that was going quite well. Then three starts. Then he was pulled after an inning because Hendry couldn't plan ahead with a pitching staff if an autographed Neifi Perez game used jersey was on the line. And then seven very good innings last time out. Hopefully he can get in a few major league starts and then possibly be shut down in mid-September or so. Of course, if Dusty remains committed to using off-days to skip the 5th starter, that may not happen. And I don't see them shutting Marshall down, either.
  21. You can get six good seats on Cubs.com right now. The best six come up in 102, but that's in the corner. If you select upper deck box, you can get six in the 4th row of 429. They're nice seats.
  22. I still can't believe that happened...
  23. I find that last comment rather unlikely. You're telling me it's not harder to pitch to the modern lineup, where anybody can take you deep at any moment, compared to some of those lineups filled with scrawny and/or paunchy smokers and drinkers who lived off the slap single? Hey, I know that team!
  24. Not to mention Hendry talking about getting Lee and Pagan back several times. Those two shouldn't be within two sentences of each other. And Pagan doesn't need a book because he's fast. Of course, Murton is pretty fast, as well, but it's not the same.
