From an outsider's perspective, it seems it was working out pretty well with Jay Cutler at the helm. Obviously a switch from Cutler to Hanie won't work out well no matter what offensive system you're running. -

Because it's so rare for young QB's to have good seasons in their first couple years in the league. Matt Ryan has been better all four years than Sanchez is this year. Flacco's first three years were all better and they're pretty even this year. Josh Freeman put up a 95.8 QB rating last year, though he's dropped off this year. Stafford has a 90.7 QB rating this year (his third in the league). Dalton and Newton are about equal with Sanchez but are both rookies. Obviously not every quarterback is going to step right into the league and be successful but that holds true for every position. Sanchez has a career 55% completion percentage and 44 TDs to 44 INTs. This year he's at 56.3 and 18:11. He's not good either. No one says Sanchez is better than Ryan or Flacco. Those other QBs you mentioned are fine and are having their ups and downs. They also played a LOT more college ball than Sanchez did. Yeah, look how much college ball helped Matt Cassel.

Just like how wins is a good indicator of how good a pitcher is? 10-15. 2tds. He had a good game against a 2-9 team. I agree with this.

No. Just..no. It doesn't invalidate the rest of the argument, but this is just complete nonsense. Just because Mississippi State, Florida, and Auburn were ranked at the time does not make them "Ranked teams" in any meaningful judgment of accomplishment at the end of the season. That is utter absurdity. Stop it. I agree with this. If it turns out that Miss St, Florida, and Auburn just weren't that good, then they shouldn't be counted as wins over ranked teams.

Wait, have the updated computer ratings been released? OSU is 2nd in 4 of 6 computer ratings. They had been prior to this week, though, it's just the human voting that has screwed things up. So yes, 20 years after everyone decided that depending on human voters was a stupid way to determine #1, they've made it so that human voters have 2/3 of the influence to determine #2. And not just educated voters. A public poll has 33% of the influence.

I hate how they determine those stats. Arkansas is no. 3 now but since they were was no. 14 when Alabama beat them, it doesn't count as a top 10 win?

Yeah, I went back and forth between Oklahoma State and Alabama, but I don't see how voters can honestly say that Oklahoma State deserves a shot over Alabama. They were no. 5 in both polls this week, and I can't seem them jumping to no. 2 over Alabama in both polls. Plus, Alabama has them beat in the computers (currently). The only reason voters will put Oklahoma State at no. 2 is if they don't want to see a rematch, and not because they truly think they are the no. 2 team in the country.

After much time researching and thinking about it, here are my predicted BCS matchups: National Championship Game: LSU vs. Alabama Sugar Bowl: Michigan vs. TCU Rose Bowl: Oregon vs. Wisconsin Fiesta Bowl: Oklahoma State vs. Stanford Orange Bowl: Clemson vs. West Virginia These aren't my preferred matchups, just how I think it will end up shaking out. Thoughts?
