  1. Short term yes, long term maybe a little. The statistic is meant to be analyzed for the big picture (Big N). I don't know how valid it is to use as a short term meter of success Hmm, then let's put it to the ultimate test: The Chicago Cubs are 9965-9442 during the lifetime of the franchise. Where can I get total runs scored/total runs allowed stats for the Cubs?
  2. This is probably why he was so scared: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYpgvhvhTQE
  3. If you have mlb.tv or know anyone who does they can get the entire game video and then you can cut out the part you want. Edit: I'm very jealous that you were there and I wasn't. :) i signed into my mlb.tv account but cant' find where the archived games are. Hmm...strange. I borrowed someone's mlb.tv when I was in California and could've sworn that I saw archived games in there somewhere. I can't remember where though. Link Click on the inning you want to see.
  4. And now Webb's streak ends in the 1st inning. Christ, lock up this thread now!!!
  5. That's cause nobody gives him any credit.
  6. Win probability link: http://live.protrade.com/rangers_orioles/20070822/1?CMP=OTC-MLBPlay
  7. To give you a sense of how ridiculous Barry Bonds's 2001 season was, the Rangers slugged .860 for the entire game, still short of Bonds's 2001 slugging percentage: .863.
  8. What's the major league record for 1 team? Geez, that is ridiculous.
  9. Looking at the offensive stats for both players, the only thing that stands out in favor for Morgan was his OPS+.
  10. Steve Kline didn't give up an earned run.
  11. It seems like there is no TV baseball announcer that you guys don't hate.
  12. 6 games with a Conine-less Reds team is fine by me.
  13. I'd like to provide Reggie Sanders as a counterexample. He was below average with the Cards, nowhere near as good as his Cinci days.
  14. Yeah, Steve Kline is this slimy thing that crawled out of a hole somewhere to pitch well only for the Cards, then slither back to whatever the hell place he came from. Kline's 2003 season with the Cards was one of the worst of his career. However, his 2001 and 2004 seasons with the Cards were the two best seasons of his career.
  15. Yeah, but without a punchline?
  16. Urgh...history foiled by Joey Gathright.
  17. ^^ Bump? I asked this question in this thread and got the following response: Ah yes. Message Boards: The cornerstone of accuracy.
  18. Actually yes No, if a guy is on 3rd, it doesn't really matter how fast he is.
  19. Yeah, but that game was eventually finished.
  20. Man, it'll be nice to keep Pujols from going yard once in awhile.
  21. We're not winning. But we would be if NU had beaten USC at the Rose Bowl in 1996. ??? Ok..... Anyways, why do I get the feeling that we're just going to go down quietly from here on out?
  22. So what were they?
