  1. Except for, you know .... history.
  2. I don't think they are considered, nor should they be considered, journalists. They are entertainment. To be fair, sportscasters for specific teams aren't supposed to be unbiased. They are supposed to cheer on the team they cover all season. However, there is a difference between that and what Marty did. It was definitely unprofessional.
  3. Mets just wasted a first and second, nobody out situation to lose 5-4 to the Phillies today. LOL.
  4. Ok, this is getting pretty sad for the Pirates right now.
  5. 6 out of our 8 position players today have batting averages over .310.
  6. Yeah, I'm really jealous of their team. The young talent they have is insane.
  7. I have no idea why John Russell bats LaRoche 4th and Nady 5th.
  8. Wow, that's gotta be awkward later on.
  9. The fact that he's "only" on pace for 67 makes what Bonds (and McGwire) did seem that much more absurd. And Sosa. Apologies for including some triple crown stats, but DLee is on pace for: 67HR, 143 RBI, .356/.407/.726 (1.133 OPS) Sosa's 2001 64HR, 160 RBI, .328/.437/.727 (1.174 OPS) Those stats will almost certainly win the triple crown in this day and age.
  10. Pat and Ron had a hilarious exchange on Thursday about her.
  11. You know, it does occur to me that Cubs fans have not been particularly model fans lately. I can think of three incidents. 1) Throwing all those baseballs onto the field. 2) Throwing a beer at McLouth during a live play. 3) Those racist Fukudome t-shirts. Yes, I know it's not every Cubs fan. Yes, I know there are always drunken idiots in every fanbase. But Brennaman has placed the Cubs fan under the microscope, and it's up to everybody to respond in a positive light. So far, that hasn't happened and, as unfair as it is, it reflects badly on everyone.
  12. Calling him injured is a bit premature right now. Was Zambrano injured when he left his opening day game?
  13. Yeah it could of been handled a better way. It was a total dick move by the ESPN guy. I can sympathize with a 19 year old Tejada doing whatever he can to catch a break (and how pathetic is it that he had to lie about his age to convince somebody to sign him). But he's been misrepresenting his age to employers and potential employers for years, why is it wrong for ESPN to expose him? Nothing wrong with ESPN wanting to expose him ... but there is something wrong with the way they went about doing it.
  14. He made the last out at the bat, haha. Yeah, I guess a screaming double would have been too much.
  15. speaking of stalking Marmol... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/vance_the_cubs_fan/wrigley%20trip%202007/100_0441.jpg Is he wearing earrings or does he just have really shiny lobes? Earbuds, dude.
  16. I'm guessing so, Lou doesn't trust anyone else for the 8th, and he was double switched to the last out of last inning. With Marmol's stuff today, why even double switch?
  17. Hanging your hopes on a McClouth home run against Saito isn't going to cut it everytime.
  18. I wonder what it will take to get people to realize that Theriot might be better than they think.
  19. Then it might be 3-0 Pirates by this inning.
  20. Let's see if Rich Hill can get back that run here.
