  1. Is that a Prairie Stick bat Ronny is sporting? Sweet.
  2. They didn't exactly look great once he returned. I don't think he looked better at the NSBB game. They haven't been great but he hasn't been THIS bad. Then he should be out of the game immediately, especially since we're up 8-0. I whole heartedly agree. Yeah, give Hoff-power some ABs.
  3. LOL .. Bob just suggested Reed should bunt the runners over for Z.
  4. That wasn't Duke....it was some dude named Burnett. Why is Russell putting in a lefty with an all righty Cubs lineup?
  5. Cubs had 10 hits, scored 5 runs through 4 and Duke only threw 63 pitches.
  6. What's lost in this game is that Jason Bay continues to own Z. Good thing that Z owns the other 8 Pirates batters.
  7. And the white spot on the railing confirms that.
  8. Looks like that the ball hit the upper green part of the railing. Didn't even look like the fan touched it.
  9. Ugh ... hopefully that run doesn't come back to bite us.
  10. Where is this game not televised? Len and Bob were talking about instant replay and Len says that some MLB games aren't televised so they couldn't have instant replay for those games.
  11. Eh, what MLB games aren't televised? I thought all MLB games were televised.
  12. Says who? Says my misread of Lou's managerial tendencies.
  13. Damn you Reed. You took the bat out of Zambrano's hands.
  14. I believe you spelled his name wrong. Details... "w" instead of "v"
  15. Why would Soriano be so sore after 2 days off? Bad night on the town?
  16. It'll be funny to see what Hank Steinbrenner says when Farnsworth blows every other close game that the Yankees lead in the 8th.
  17. Chamberlain is better than Marmol. Stats as reliever: Marmol: 107.2 innings pitched, 150 K, 46 BB, 1.92 ERA, 1.012 WHIP, .514 OPS against Chamberlain: 44.1 innings pitched, 59 K, 15 BB, 1.42 ERA, .925 WHIP, .504 OPS against It's too close to call. However, Marmol is having a better season so far.
  18. Sadly, I believe he is. You can usually tell the difference between a young player just having a hot start and a young player who's the real deal. He looks to be the real deal.
  19. I have no problems with using instant replay if it's only used to determine the correct call. I want the calls to be correct. Period.
  20. Make a rule that anytime a ball bounces back onto the field of play, it's not initially ruled a home run. You can always go back later and correct it if need be.
  21. maddux, glavine, and johnson are 100% 1st ballot no question. the other 3 probably get in a year or 2 later. though it's a crime if any of them (with the possible exception of schilling) don't make it right away. I don't see how Glavine ranks ahead of the others. He's not in Maddux's or the Unit's class. i agree. but 300 wins = first ballot in the minds of sportswriters. If that's the case, then sportswriters are very narrow-minded. Don't they realize that a pitcher's W/L record is mostly out of their control?
  22. Paxson confirmed Bulls are only going to be looking at Rose and Beasley. This comes to you from the "Well, obviously" department, but it's nice to get confirmation.
  23. Skip is 3/5 tonight, Schumaker 4/4 and Ankiel just went yard to put STL up 11-3. Good night for the leading examples of Cardinals magic. Please tell me that at least one of Schumaker, Miles, Ludwick, and Ryan were highly touted prospects. PLEASE.
