  1. Cub pitchers are now 2nd in MLB in K's, behind only the Reds. They are in the middle of the pack in BB's.
  2. I'm not saying it's bad news, but how is it good news? I really don't care what they do. Sarcasm. And to all the people saying they are not in the NL Central. We get this team for 6 while the Cards get the Royals. Also, I have seen this series kill the other team's season over the years. It will only kill the Cubs season if any. The rest of the AL Central with their recent rash of injuries is absolutely horrific.
  3. Yes. yes we do. While Wood may not be the best closer in the game, the 1-2 combination is the best there is. Broxton/Saito is pretty nasty.
  4. The same could be said of a .333 club. Just saying ..
  5. http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/06/08/sports/BBN-Nationals-Moves.php For the love of God, let's sign him before the Pirates or White Sox do.
  6. Even funnier is that from those numbers, it looks like he got robbed of AL ROY.
  7. 4-3 road trip? I'll take it! Come back home boys!
  8. Takashi Saito? Whoa wait I'm sorry i'm mistaken, crap i thought it was still chan ho park up there They all look alike, don't they?
  9. Yeah, I was hoping to put a dent into his .420 average. Oh, well. C'est la vie.
  10. This is major league baseball. I've resigned myself to the fact that no matter how good a team is, no win will ever be easy.
  11. Hershiser owns the record at 59, he broke Drysdale's record of 58 2/3 No, look at his game logs at the end of 1988 and the beginning of 1989. He got the last out in the 5th inning of a game in 1988, then pitched 59 consecutive scoreless innings to end 1988, and then got two guys out in the first inning of his first game in 1989. That's 60 innnings, or if you don't count that beginning out, that's 59 2/3. That sounds like a lot of work, so I'll just take your word for it. ;) Here are the links: http://www.baseball-reference.com/pi/gl.cgi?n1=hershor01&t=p&year=1988 http://www.baseball-reference.com/pi/gl.cgi?n1=hershor01&t=p&year=1989

  13. Where are you today? Beautiful Algonquin, IL !! I was just there today to sell a PS3.
  14. Bad graphic on Don Drysdale. They had him as 58 2/3 consecutive scoreless innings pitched, but the consecutive scoreless innings pitched record is kept as whole innings.
  15. Hey Joe, Jon .... there's a game going on. You mind?
  16. They would have more of them. Not so much.... No one would watch a SA/DET final. Gotta get interest somehow... What about a Boston/New York finals I know it will never happen but still. Considering they're in the same conference, I highly doubt that will happen.
  17. I would have been pissed if the runners both advanced.
  18. Shelden Williams mention during Cubs game!! Love it!
  19. lay off Morgan. He gives us important insight, like a pitcher batting .200 is the equivilant of a position player batting .300. I think what Joe Morgan means is that you don't expect pitchers to hit .200, just like you don't expect position players to hit .300. If a pitcher hits .200, then it's as big of a welcome surprise as a position player hitting .300.
  20. He also had no idea where he was going with that commentary.
  21. Now THAT'S what we've been missing the last two games.
  22. Joe Morgan thinks Derrek Lee making an out and moving DeRosa over to 3rd is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
  23. I would have rather had Marquis swing away there, and that's not just in hindsight.
  24. As great as Theriot has been, it's kinda refreshing to not have to see that slow wind up and throw to first from him.
  25. Good to see the bad fielding is carrying over from yesterday.
