I believe MLB changed that rule and Randy Johnson does get credit for a 20 strikeout performance. I heard Pat mention this during Wood's 20 K anniversary.
If I'm not mistaken, I believe he also quit paying dues, which pretty much puts out out of a union. Doesn't that also mean he won't get any sort of retirement pension?
I get that feeling too, but how many times did we all have it last year? Yeah, this is nowhere near the mass hysteria after the 3 games at Florida last year.
It is maddening how arbitrary MLB sets the rules for a no-hitter. Weaver/Arredondo pitched an entire MLB game without giving up a hit. It's not their fault their offense was completely lethargic that game. How can that not be a no-hitter? Also arbitrary is that Weaver/Arredondo could have had a chance for a no-hitter had they been the home team. But since they were away, that chance is taken away from them.
Everybody's talking about Lee's GIDP rate, which admittedly is bad. However, the real culprit is that his GB% is at a career high. groundballs + guy on first + less than two outs = GIDP
Yeah, the reports of AJ being a "douche" are highly exaggerated. For some reason everybody hates him, but during interviews and such, he's just like any other ballplayer. I honestly don't know where the anger started.
NBADraft.net has them taking George Hill, an Indiana native. http://www.nbadraft.net/admincp/profiles/georgehill.html But obviously someone will have a better answer than me. Courtney Lee was really impressive during the tourney. Wouldn't be a bad 2nd round pick.
