This brings up an interesting scenario. Say the Cubs and Astros finish the year both clinching a playoff berth but the Cubs are one game ahead of the Astros, would MLB be forced to play final postponed game in order to decide who goes in as division champs and who goes in as the wild card? The first tiebreaker is head-to-head in these cases, but the Astros only hold a 9-8 advantage there. The last game could decide the first tiebreaker as well. The second tiebreaker is intra-division winning percentage, which (right now) the Cubs own. Granted, the odds of this is extremely low and would require a monumental Cubs collapse, but it's interesting to think about.
